Township Promotes/Hires Nine Members within Liberty Township Fire Department
The Liberty Township Board of Trustees and Chief Ethan Klussman are pleased to announce the hiring/promotion of nine members to Career Firefighter positions. Four firefighters are new to the Liberty Township Fire Department (LTFD) and five are members being promoted from within the department.
LTFD members being promoted to new Career Firefighter/EMT positions include:
McKeon Buchanan, Firefighter/EMT, is a graduate of Milford High School and Great Oaks Fire Academy. He spent a semester exploring the teaching field before discovering fire service is his passion. He’s worked for LTFD for one year as well as for Milford Township Fire Department. Buchanan lives in Miami Township where he volunteers coaching football for the Milford freshman team. He also enjoys watching football and spending time with family.
Jesse Campbell Jr, Firefighter/EMT, is a graduate of Winton Woods High School and Scarlet Oaks Fire Academy. He’s worked for LTFD for nearly two years. He’s also served the communities of Woodlawn, Forest Park and Deerfield Township. Campbell enjoys spending time with his dog and relaxing in the Anderson area during his free time as well as keeping in touch with his mom and siblings living in Nashville.
Dylan Jones, Firefighter/EMT, is a graduate of Springboro High School and received his fire training from Sinclair Community College. He also works with Colerain Township. Jones enjoys spending time with his brother, sister and larger family in his spare time.
Colin Mele, Firefighter/EMT, is a graduate of Butler Tech’s Fire Rescue Academy and has been with LTFD for a couple of months. He finished second in his class at Butler Tech and is eager to contribute to LTFD, a department he believes has solid values and a stellar culture. Mele lives in West Chester and enjoys reading, guitar/music, gaming and cheering on Cincinnati sports teams, especially the Cincinnati Bengals.
One existing LTFD member is being promoted from a Career Firefighter/EMT role to a Career Firefighter/Paramedic position:
Pierre Monvillers, Firefighter/Paramedic, is a 10-year veteran of the fire service industry. He’s served the LTFD for the past two years as a Firefighter/EMT. Previously, he worked for the city of Fairfield and the city of Lens in France. Monvillers started his fire training in France and has since added fire and paramedic training and certifications from Butler Tech. He lives in West Chester and enjoys hiking, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Newly hired members of the LTFD include:
Justin Bell, Firefighter/Paramedic, is a 16-year veteran of the fire service industry. He’s spent time serving the communities of Colerain Township, North College Hill, Forest Park, Sycamore Township, City of Cincinnati and Deerfield Township. Bell went to medic school at Butler Tech and did heavy rescue training at Bowling Green State University. He is currently pursuing his associate’s degree to add to his numerous fire and rescue certifications. Bell and his wife Julianne enjoy spending time with their three children (Kylie, Kaden and Kameron) and German shepherd (Mello). The family loves sports, the Tennessee Titans, music, cooking and traveling.
Perry Fisher, Firefighter/Paramedic, is a graduate of Moeller High School and went on to receive his fire training at The Ohio Fire Academy and Cincinnati State. He also received rescue training at Bowling Green State University. Fisher has worked for the city of Sharonville, Loveland-Symmes and Central Joint Fire-EMS District. He is also an Eagle Scout and member of the Hamilton County Urban Search and Rescue Team. Fisher is a third generation firefighter. He lives in Eastgate where he enjoys rock climbing, backpacking, mountain biking and racing motorcycles in his free time.
Tyler Marsan, Firefighter/Paramedic, received an Associate’s Degree from Cincinnati State and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Cincinnati. He’s worked for the Colerain Township Fire Department for the last two years. Marsan is also a combat veteran, serving six years in the U.S. Marine Corps as an 0351 Infantry Assaultman. He is also an event medic for the Cincinnati Reds. Marsan is an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys mountain climbing and hiking and spending time in America’s national parks.
Shane Trickey, Firefighter/Paramedic, received his fire education from Butler Tech and Cincinnati State. Mostly recently, he worked for CVG Airport. Trickey has also spent time working for West Carrollton and City of Mason as well as serving LTFD in a part-time capacity for nearly nine years earlier in his career. Trickey enjoys riding motorcycles, golfing, fishing and spending time with his wife Katie and their two children, Charlotte and Isla.
“It’s a wonderful thing to be able to promote from within and I’m excited to elevate five of our members to new positions where I know they will excel. Our four new hires have very good experience and will be great additions to the department as well. I look forward to the contributions each of these gentlemen will make to the Liberty Township community,” said Fire Chief Ethan Klussman.
