To Our Valued Chamber Members:

One of the goals of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce is to continually improve on the services and resources, which we provide to you – our members. The 2026 Magazine and Resource Guide is an excellent example of this continued commitment to quality.

As the 2025 - 2026 Chairwoman of the Chamber, it is with a great deal of pride that I present you with your copy of this year’s publication. I hope that you find it useful as a business tool as I have with previous editions.

Please take a moment to look through the directory and familiarize yourself with its many different uses, noticing that member businesses can be located either by the alphabetized section, their category or by the key contact. As a valuable tool, you will find important business reference numbers, public officials’ names and numbers, the legislative roster, board member information and more features to assist in your business transactions.

Of course, the most important step in getting the greatest value from your Magazine and Resource Guide is to keep it handy. If you need a temporary employee, legal advice, a catered event…they’re all here. Find a convenient place for it, close at hand, and train yourself to use it when business needs present themselves.

On behalf of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce, I would like to welcome you to our community. Whether you’re visiting for the day, looking for a new place to call home or you’re already a resident of our thriving community, welcome. The Chamber was established in 1913 to advocate for and support the prosperity of Torrance and area businesses.

It is an exciting time to be a member of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce. We continually create new networking and promotional opportunities to help our member businesses succeed and grow. These opportunities include space to advertise through Member Minutes, business referrals, monthly networking opportunities and continuing education. Other great events that allow our member businesses to gain visibility include the annual Business Expo and Showcase, State of the City, Celebrate Education, Police and Fire Awards luncheons and the Stars and Strides 5K..

We continue to partner with local government and other organizations to pursue improvements in the overall quality of life for the city, county and region, particularly in the areas of transportation, education, healthcare, tourism, economic development, community development and workforce development. Our success in achieving our mission and purpose is due to a collaborative effort from the Chamber Board of Directors, Chamber Ambassadors, City of Torrance, Chamber members and area professionals.

Advocacy at the Chamber

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce’s support of the business community is demonstrated through its active engagement at the local, state and federal levels of government. Serving as a strong and consistent advocate for business interests, the Chamber works to ensure that the Torrance area business community is heard by policymakers across all jurisdictions.

Central to these efforts is the Chamber’s Government Affairs Policy (GAP) program, which offers monthly meetings featuring presentations from key stakeholders, timely analysis of emerging legislation and deliberation on action to be taken as decided by committee members. This proactive approach allows Chamber members to stay informed, anticipate potential impacts and engage constructively on issues that affect their businesses and the regional economy. Furthermore, an important aspect of GAP meetings remains its place as a premier forum for business leaders to bring forth challenging issues facing their own businesses to boost awareness and field solutions among members.

The Chamber is consistently taking action to advance the priorities of, and policies determined by, the GAP committee. These actions include drafting letters of support/opposition, testifying throughout Los Angeles County as well as Sacramento, and telegraphing important legislation to its members through the Chamber’s newsletter.

Monthly GAP meetings bring together field representatives from legislative offices, as well as leadership from the City of Torrance and surrounding communities. Additionally, through premier engagement events like State of the City, State and Region – the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce ensures that it centers the concerns of the business community in important public forums.

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce actively collaborates with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, California Chamber of Commerce, South Bay Association of Chamber of Commerce and the Business Federation of Los Angeles on legislative issues for the purpose of coalition building and legislative unity.

Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi meets with members of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce to discuss issues facing businesses and possible solutions.

Will Brandt, Government Affairs Policy Coordinator, provides testimony in support of the Hybrid Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA) at the Metro Board of Directors meeting in downtown Los Angeles regarding the K Line extension to Torrance.

Government Affairs Policy members were invited to visit the Grace F. Napolitano Pure Water Southern California Innovation Center on behalf of the Metropolitan Water District. Members gained insight on efforts to increase the South Bay’s water supply through innovation purification processes.

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Torrance met with representatives from Los Angeles Air Force Base to discuss ongoing housing issues at the base and explore potential housing solutions within the City of Torrance.

Members of the 2025 Leadership Torrance Class were welcomed to the Port of Long Beach by Manager of Homeland Security, Bridgett Lewis.

Mentor Program Provides Support and Guidance to Students

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation Mentor Program matches 25 Chamber members with 25 sophomore students from North High School. The mentors and students meet throughout the year to have discussions, hear speakers and work in small groups.

“My goal was to create a space where my student felt heard, supported and confident enough to open up about the passions that truly drive her. I encouraged her to discover her own purpose and pursue it with full devotion – not by following trends or by being influenced by others’ expectations, but by staying true to herself,” explained mentor Asam Sheikh, Financial Planning and Analysis, Honda.

Throughout the year, speakers are brought in from the community to discuss the importance of community service, share their career paths and to explore financial literacy.

“On behalf of North High School, I want to extend our sincere gratitude to the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce for your continued partnership and support of our mentorship program. Your commitment to connecting our students with successful professionals throughout the Torrance community is far more than a generous act of service – it is a meaningful investment in the futures of young people who are still discovering who they are, what they are capable of and what kind of impact they want to make in the world. As a result of your partnership, our students are not only learning about careers, but they are also building confidence, gaining clarity and developing a strong sense of purpose as they begin imagining life beyond high school,” stated Paul Nitake, Principal, North High School.

Honda welcomed students and mentors in the Mentor Program at their headquarters. A tour of the Honda Collection Hall was provided in addition to several associates sharing their career paths.

Edna Molina of DoubleTree Hilton Torrance – South Bay experienced a day in the life of a student by visiting a student’s first-period class, gaining firsthand insight into their daily school experience.

Torrance Police Department Task Force: Chamber and Police Department Collaborate to Provide Resource-Sharing Initiatives

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce created a task force comprised of business leaders to partner with the Torrance Police Department (TPD). This task force meets monthly to enhance public safety, strengthen community trust and foster economic vitality through collaboration. Through this partnership, Chamber members have been able to share information on criminal activity and provide expertise and resources of the business community for educational programs and initiatives, while TPD shares intelligence on criminal activity and improving security protocols to protect businesses.

“It’s important for the Chamber to partner with the Torrance Police Department because it helps businesses better understand the department’s priorities and how they align with community needs. The meetings serve as a valuable sounding board where business leaders can discuss issues they are having, and receive direct feedback from law enforcement,” explained Stan Gray, owner, Fastsigns of Torrance.

Small Business Advisory Council

The Small Business Advisory Council serves as a collaborative forum dedicated to supporting and advocating for small businesses in the Torrance area. The council brings together business owners, community leaders and industry professionals to share insights, address challenges and identify opportunities for growth. Through monthly meetings and meaningful dialogue, the council works to strengthen connections between small businesses and the broader community while promoting long-term success.

Small Business Week

Shop Small began in 2010 when American Express created Small Business Saturday to encourage support for small businesses. Since then, it has grown into a year-round movement that champions small businesses across the globe, with Small Business Saturday continuing as an annual holiday shopping tradition.

Small Business Saturday is celebrated on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, but the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce has expanded the idea by launching its own Small Business Week to further encourage residents to shop locally. The Chamber runs a media campaign urging businesses, residents and community members to support small local businesses throughout the week.

Small Business Week is also highlighted at a Torrance City Council meeting, emphasizing the importance of supporting local businesses and helping them gain greater visibility, profitability and credibility. In addition, the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce hosts a Small Business Week Kickoff Celebration, where participants can learn about opportunities for small businesses, collect promotional items and network with fellow Chamber members.

To further promote Small Business Week, the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce hosts an art competition open to students in grades 6–12 from Torrance Unified School District, Ambassador Christian School, Bishop Montgomery High School, South Bay Christian School and Valor Christian Academy. Students submit traditional hand-drawn artwork, paintings or computer-assisted flyer designs promoting Small Business Week. The winning artwork is displayed at the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce office during the Small Business Week Kickoff Celebration and throughout Small Business Week.

Women in Business

Women in Business (WIB) is a signature Chamber program designed to bring together women in the business community to connect, grow and support one another in a welcoming and empowering environment. The program creates space for meaningful dialogue around topics that matter most to women leaders, including consistency over motivation, how successful women stay the course, leading with confidence without apology and the importance of health and wellness in both personal and professional life.

Through engaging conversations, shared experiences and practical insights, WIB encourages participants to own their voice, lead authentically and build strong networks of allies who uplift and champion one another. The program continues to inspire lasting connections while equipping women with tools and perspectives that support sustained growth, resilience and leadership at every stage of their journey.

Emerging Leaders

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce’s Emerging Leaders program is designed to connect career professionals who are actively building their presence within the local business community. The program convenes members on a regular basis through structured monthly events that emphasize purposeful networking, peer connection and professional visibility. Brandon Maloney states, “Participants gain invaluable insights into effective leadership strategies, build lasting networks and enhance their ability to navigate complex challenges in their careers.”

With a focus on a younger demographic of business professionals, Emerging Leaders provides an entry point into the Chamber for individuals who are still establishing industry relationships, developing leadership skills and navigating career growth. When Ian Walter first got started in hospitality, he recounted having a tough time finding other professionals. “I wish I had found the Chamber much earlier…Emerging Leaders makes it easier (and way less intimidating) to meet people, build relationships and get involved beyond your day-to-day,” explained Walter.

The program creates consistent opportunities for participants to meet peers from a range of industries, exchange practical insights and form relationships that extend beyond a single event. Participants benefit from access to a network of like-minded, business-focused individuals while also building a sense of social camaraderie and belonging within the broader Torrance business ecosystem.

Business at Noon

A monthly gathering to connect with other business leaders in the Torrance area and extend professional reach, Business at Noon brings members together in an engaging and collaborative setting. Held each month at a local Chamber restaurant, the event offers attendees the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, share ideas and learn more about fellow businesses in the community. It’s an ideal way to network, enjoy great food and stay connected.

Military Affairs Council (MAC)

The Military Affairs Council functions as a liaison between the Los Angeles Air Force Base, Fort MacArthur and the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce. The council works with Chamber members, elected officials and community leaders to advocate for policies that improve the quality of life for the military community. The Chamber’s advocacy focus includes housing, childcare, jobs and taxes affecting active-duty service members, veterans and their families.

Chamber 101: Empower Your Business – Join, Connect, and Grow!

Chamber 101 is an engaging introduction to the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce and the many ways membership helps businesses connect, collaborate and grow. This session highlights valuable networking opportunities, community involvement and Chamber programs designed to support business development and meaningful connections. Attendees are encouraged to introduce themselves, share their business and begin building relationships with local professionals who are shaping success together.

Speed Networking

Speed Networking gives Chamber members a dynamic opportunity to connect with fellow professionals in a fast-paced yet relaxed setting. Hosted at the Farmers & Merchants Bank Torrance office, the event encourages meaningful conversations and relationship-building in a short amount of time. Akmal Ahmed, Founder and CEO of Axiom Consulting, states, “You meet a lot of great people in a short window, have real conversations and walk away with connections you genuinely want to follow up with. It’s relaxed, well-organized and a great way to stay plugged into the local business community.”

Echoing that sentiment, Marifrances Trivelli, Director of the Los Angeles Maritime Museum, states, “Let’s face it — everyone is busy. The Torrance Chamber’s Speed Networking is a quick, fun and productive way to start the day, make new contacts and spread the word about your business — while still getting to work on time.”

Signature Events

Holiday Mixer

Scott Robinson Honda graciously hosts the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Holiday Mixer, bringing together members for a fun evening of networking, entertainment by S’cool Daze and a spirited ugly sweater contest. This festive gathering is a Chamber tradition, offering a welcoming space for members to reconnect, build relationships and celebrate the holiday season together.

This year’s event highlights the Chamber’s dedication to giving back to the community. Member admission benefits the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that focuses on supporting education and workforce development. Through partnerships with local schools, the Foundation delivers innovative programs and hands-on experiences that help prepare students for future career success.

Adding to the spirit of generosity, The Chanani Group graciously made a donation to the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation. The contribution was celebrated during the event with a special presentation of a check, underscoring the importance of community partnerships and shared investment in education and workforce development.

Entertainment for the evening was provided by S’cool Daze, whose live holiday music adds to the festive atmosphere. Gary Duperron, a member of the band, shared, “Performing at the Holiday Mixer was incredibly special — playing Christmas music with friends, seeing familiar faces and watching everyone connect really captures the spirit of the season. Live music has always been close to my heart, and moments like these, especially with Santa bringing extra holiday cheer, remind me why sharing music with the community is such a dream come true.”

Further embracing the Chamber’s commitment to education and community engagement, students from North High School, led by Lori Ikari, volunteered at the Holiday Mixer. The students welcomed guests at the door and captured photos throughout the evening, gaining valuable real-world experience while contributing to the success of the event. “The students enjoyed participating in the Holiday Mixer and value the opportunity to be involved. Several students expressed interest in future opportunities, and we look forward to continuing to support upcoming Chamber events,” states Ikari. Guests were also encouraged to join in the fun by dressing in their most festive holiday attire for the ugly sweater contest, a lighthearted tradition that brought smiles and friendly competition.

Reflecting on the event’s continued success, Mike Cirona, General Manager at Scott Robinson Honda, shared, “The holiday season is all about joy and connection, and it’s incredible to see both longtime supporters and new members come together year after year. The Chamber plays an integral role in our success throughout the year, so hosting this event is our way of saying thank you. From the donation to the Chamber to the Ugly Sweater contest and record turnout, it was truly a memorable evening — and now the challenge is figuring out how to top it next year.”

Business Expo & Showcase: An Evening of Endless Opportunities

The Business Expo & Showcase is an annual Chamber event where more than 100 local businesses, restaurants, non-profit organizations and entrepreneurs come together to showcase their products and services to the community. The Expo serves as a dynamic platform for connection, collaboration and discovery, highlighting the depth and diversity of the South Bay’s local business landscape.

This year’s event featured participation from the City of Torrance, which hosted a City Walk that allowed attendees to engage directly with department heads from various city departments. The City Walk provided a unique opportunity for businesses and residents to learn more about city services, ask questions and gain insight into how the City of Torrance supports economic development, public safety, infrastructure and community programs.

With a wide range of businesses in attendance, from retail and professional services to health and wellness, hospitality and nonprofit organizations, the Expo truly represented the strength and variety of local commerce. Exhibitors brought their booths to life with interactive experiences, including games, live demonstrations, product samples, raffles and promotional giveaways, creating an engaging and energetic atmosphere throughout the event. Denise Bunn of CX&B United Promotional Agency shared that what stood out most was “the strong sense of community and the ability to create partnerships and referrals through face-to-face interaction, leading to long-term business and partnership growth.”

Adding to the excitement, this year’s theme, Throughout the Decades, encouraged participants to dress up and decorate their booths to reflect their favorite era. Attendees were transported through time as booths showcased styles and décor ranging in different eras. The creative displays and themed attire added a festive element to the Expo and made for a memorable experience for both exhibitors and guests.

The Business Expo & Showcase continues to be a celebration of local business, community partnerships and creativity. It is not only an opportunity to promote goods and services but also a chance to build relationships, learn about community resources and support the businesses that help our region thrive. We look forward to welcoming you to the next Business Expo & Showcase!

State of the City

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce annually hosts the State of the City Address, where the Mayor of Torrance provides an overview of important topics including the city’s growth and enhancements, accomplishments achieved over the past year and the direction aimed at ensuring continued business and community success.

The Chamber honored Jack Walser, former City of Torrance Councilmember and owner of Walser’s with the Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award. Since 1953, the Chamber has annually selected the Distinguished Citizen of the Year whose achievements have been significant to the community and to the general welfare of the people of Torrance.

The event was further enhanced by centerpieces generously donated by business members. Each centerpiece reflected the unique spirit and offerings of the donating business, adding a personalized touch to every table. Guests had the opportunity to participate in a special drawing for the centerpieces, with proceeds benefiting the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation.

State of the State

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce presented the State of the State Address featuring special guest speakers, 24th District California State Senator Ben Allen and 66th District California Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi. The event provided attendees with timely insights into legislative priorities and policy developments impacting businesses and communities across the South Bay and throughout California. Senator Allen and Assemblymember Muratsuchi shared updates on key issues at the state level while emphasizing their continued commitment to supporting local economic growth. The discussion also offered an opportunity for dialogue between state leaders and the Torrance business community.

Men of Impact

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce hosted members and the community to celebrate the 2nd Annual Men of Impact Luncheon at the DoubleTree Hilton Torrance – South Bay. This signature event spotlights distinguished leaders whose vision, integrity and commitment continue to strengthen the South Bay.

Honorees recognized include Steve MacAller, YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, Community Builder Award; Rob Van Lingen, The Van Lingen Group, Legacy Award; Madhu Chanani, Bluestem Hotel, Visionary Leader Award; Vince Giuliano, Gaetano’s Restaurant & Piccini Italian Takeout, Industry Trailblazer Award; David Dumais, Torrance Fire Department, Spotlight on Excellence Award; Mark Applegate, Farmers Insurance, The Rising Contributor Award; and David Henseler, South Bay Sunrise Rotary, South Bay Spirit Award.

Adding to the program, keynote speaker Goodie Goodloe, an accomplished speaker, mentor and author, shares insights designed to inspire both personally and professionally.

Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce and Japan Business Association (JBA) 26th Annual Grand Mixer

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) and the Japan Business Association (JBA) hosted the 26th Annual Grand Mixer, celebrating the longstanding dedication and contributions of Japanese businesses to the City of Torrance. Donna Duperron, President and CEO of TACC, emphasized the longevity, impact and importance of Japanese businesses in the community.

Honored speakers included City of Torrance Mayor George Chen, Consul General of Japan Kosei Murota, and JBA President Shinichi Jujinami. The signature event took place at the Miyako Hybrid Hotel, offering attendees a fun evening of networking, business bingo, tabletop displays and delicious food.

Coastal Cleanup Day

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce annually partners with the City of Torrance to support Coastal Cleanup Day, the largest volunteer event in the world. This global initiative is coordinated through a collaborative effort with the Ocean Conservancy, the California Coastal Commission, the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors, and Heal the Bay.

Each year, volunteers gather at Torrance Beach to comb the shoreline, collecting trash and recyclables and helping protect the coastal environment. Through this longstanding commitment, Torrance recognizes that cleaning up local beaches is part of a much larger global effort to safeguard our oceans, waterways and overall community health.

Work Well, Live Well Forum & Showcase
The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the Work Well, Live Well Forum & Showcase at Sunrider International, bringing together business leaders, healthcare executives and community partners for a focused discussion on health, wellness and their impact on the South Bay business community.

Formerly known as The Intersection of Business and Healthcare, the Chamber reimagined the event to offer a fresh perspective and expanded value for attendees. The updated format placed a stronger emphasis on workforce wellness and prevention while introducing a Health & Wellness Showcase, creating a more interactive and well-rounded experience. The showcase allowed local health and wellness businesses to engage directly with attendees, highlighting products and services that support healthier workplaces and communities.

Panelists included executive leaders from Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center, Torrance Memorial Medical Center and UCLA Health, who shared valuable insights on healthcare trends, workforce well-being and the evolving relationship between business and healthcare.

California Labor Law Update
The 2026 California Labor Law Update, hosted by the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce, serves as an essential resource for businesses navigating the latest labor law changes impacting California employers. The annual update provided timely guidance for business owners, executives and human resource professionals as they prepared for new compliance requirements and workplace regulations taking effect in the upcoming year.

The program featured expert insights from Mistee Ruiz, Chief People Officer at Facio, LLC, and Karl Schmidt, General Counsel at Parker, Milliken, Clark, O’Hara & Samuelian, APC, who reviewed key legislative updates and emerging employment law trends. Their discussion focused on how recent changes affect day-to-day operations and highlighted practical considerations for employers across industries. Attendees gained a clearer understanding of new compliance obligations, best practices for managing employee relations and strategies for minimizing risk in an evolving legal landscape.

State of the Region
The 2026 State of the Region brought together elected officials, business leaders and community stakeholders to gain insight into the opportunities and challenges shaping the South Bay and greater Los Angeles region. The program featured Congresswoman Maxine Waters representing California’s 43rd Congressional District, and Congressman Ted Lieu of the 36th Congressional District, who addressed both immediate concerns and long-term priorities impacting the region.

Throughout the discussion, speakers highlighted key issues critical to the South Bay’s economic vitality and quality of life. Topics included regional and federal infrastructure investments, the growing influence of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, and strategies to support sustainable economic growth. Attention was given to workforce development and the importance of preparing businesses and employees for a rapidly evolving economy.

The 2026 State of the Region served as an important forum for dialogue between policymakers and the business community, offering attendees a clearer understanding of how federal initiatives intersect with local priorities. By fostering open conversation and shared insight, the event reinforced the importance of regional collaboration in addressing complex challenges and positioning the South Bay for continued growth and resilience.

Black History Celebration
The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the 25th Annual Black History Celebration. Throughout the decades, this event has highlighted stories of resilience and success.

Clifton L. Johnson was presented the Founder’s Award for his vision in the creation of the event. Johnson was instrumental in identifying trailblazers who empowered future generations that were recognized annually.

Ted Alston, Chief Strategy Officer, Rapiscan Systems Inc., was recognized with the Corporate Leadership Award at this year’s event.

Kinecta Federal Credit Union, American Honda Motor Co., Inc., Torrance Refining Company, Roadium Open Air Market, and Mattel each received the Legacy Award for their ongoing commitment and support of the Black History Celebration.

Women of Influence
The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed members and the community to celebrate the Women of Influence Luncheon, a signature event honoring the achievements, leadership and impact of outstanding women across the Torrance Area and South Bay.

Honorees recognized include Neera Chanani, Bluestem Hotel Torrance, Athena Award; Tara Nierenhausen, Community’s Child, Community Catalyst Award; Jin Chun, City of Torrance, Dedicated Leader Award; TerriAnn Ferren, The Salvation Army, Inspirational Leader Award; Susanne Alexander, Lisa’s Bon Appetit, Small Business Award; and Ana Straser, Malaga Bank, South Bay Spirit Award.

Designed to celebrate both individual achievement and collective progress, the program also featured keynote speaker Gary Vitti, former Head Athletic Trainer for the Los Angeles Lakers (1984–2016). With more than three decades of experience working alongside elite athletes and championship teams, Vitti shared powerful insights on leadership, resilience, teamwork and performing at the highest level.
