The North Tonawanda City School District is a unique and progressive small city school district in New York State. With a close to 50% poverty rate, we are always looking for ways to involve parents and students and make the schools a true extension of their home. Our high school offers several academy choices to guide students into career paths and offer college credits while still in high school. We have the academies of business and finance, international studies, engineering and architecture, and information technology. We are a one-to-one iPad for K-12.
Students who qualify for special education programs and related services are evaluated to determine how their needs can best be met. Our district offers the continuum of special education programs. Related services include speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy and psychological counseling. We also contract through our BOCES for vision and hearing services as needed for our students.
Our music department has been described as “a lighthouse program” for other districts to strive for. We have many opportunities for children to show their talents in a wide range of programs. The vast athletic offerings have students exercising their bodies as well as brains. We are a district rich in tradition and enjoy a healthy competition with our sister school district, Tonawanda. The annual T-NT matchup in all sports is a highlight for both communities.

The Niagara Falls City School District (NFCSD) consists of 7,000 students and is one of the largest school districts in Western New York. Our slogan has long been, “Learning for all, whatever it takes,” depicting our passion to personalize learning for each student. Within the last few years, we have added the statement that we educate Niagara Falls’ children “from cradle to career.” The District serves infants and toddlers through the Early Head Start Program. Then the children may move on to the Head Start Program for three- and four-year-olds or attend the District’s Universal Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 classes. From Pre-K, our students continue their education at one of our five Kindergarten through grade six elementary schools, or they attend our Sister School – one school divided into two grade groups (Pre-K – 2 and grades 3 through 6) and located on separate campuses. Our middle schools, Gaskill Preparatory School and LaSalle Preparatory School, guide NFCSD students through grades seven and eight, emphasizing STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and the arts. Finally, it’s off to Niagara Falls High School with its strong regular curriculum program and a significant career exploration emphasis. Every student engages in the high school’s Post-Secondary Success Program (PS2), which helps with preparing college and scholarship applications and provides job shadowing and internships, and also job training and certifications through our trades program. From cradle to career, our students leave the District prepared for life after graduation from Niagara Falls High School.
