As a lifelong resident of Tomball, I am elated to share my hometown with all of you! I have had the immense privilege of witnessing this small town with deep roots grow into an area that many are choosing to call home, whether it is with their family or with their business. I am truly excited to welcome every one of you with open arms.

During my thirty-one years at the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce, our mission has remained the same: to serve as the voice of business, strengthen community connections, and help make Tomball an exceptional place to be yourself. How the Chamber and TEDC are Shaping Tomball’s Future

When Bruce Hillegeist looks back at his 31 years as the President and CEO of the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce, a moment that stands out occurred in 1998 when the Chamber and the Tomball Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) first shared one roof. As Hillegeist said, this arrangement allowed “people to have a one-stop shop for all their business needs.”

While that office arrangement changed in October 2024 with the TEDC moving to a different suite within the same building at 29201 Quinn Road, the partnership and collaboration between these two organizations remain as strong as ever.

“We share a common goal of supporting local businesses, encouraging strategic growth, and enhancing the overall quality of life in our community,” said Hillegeist, a Tomball native. “Over the years, our organizations have partnered on initiatives, events, and projects that benefit both existing businesses and new development.”

Kelly Violette, Executive Director of TEDC since 2011, said the collaboration and partnership between TEDC, the Chamber, and the City of Tomball not only appeals to developers and investors who are looking at putting their investments to work, but it creates a welcoming environment where businesses “quickly understand that they are entering a community that is invested in their success.”

Part of the warm welcome businesses receive when they join the Tomball community includes ribbon cuttings and community connections through the Chamber and strategic incentives and resources provided by TEDC.

“The Chamber is an invaluable partner in carrying out our mission,” Violette said, “and together, TEDC and the Chamber create both the infrastructure and the ecosystem businesses need to succeed.”

Working Together

An example of how the strength of the Chamber-TEDC partnership has benefitted the local business community was during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Chamber and TEDC collaborated on a “Tomball Together” initiative, providing businesses with critical sources, connections and assistance during an incredibly difficult time, Violette said.

“By standing side by side, TEDC and the Chamber became a trusted source of guidance and support, ensuring local businesses could weather the storm,” she added.

The partnership also contributes to the overall quality of life in Tomball, as the TEDC and the Chamber support job creation, workforce training and infrastructure improvements.

“Joint efforts between the Chamber and the TEDC create a ripple effect that reaches well beyond the business community,” Hillegeist said.

On the Horizon

Looking ahead, the leadership within the Chamber and TEDC feel well-positioned to address challenges like workforce development, infrastructure needs and maintaining Tomball’s small-town charm while expanding its economic base.

“On the opportunity side, we are excited to attract new industries, support innovation and strengthen existing businesses,” Violette said. “By combining the Chamber’s ability to engage and advocate with TEDC’s resources and strategic investments, we’re ready to meet the future with confidence and collaboration.”

Over the next decade as Tomball grows and new opportunities emerge, Hillegeist envisions an even stronger partnership with TEDC as they expand their efforts in business recruitment and retention, workforce development, and quality-of-life initiatives.

“As Tomball becomes an even more desirable destination for business and talent, this partnership will allow us to respond quickly to economic changes, support innovative projects, and ensure local businesses have the resources they need to thrive,” Hillegeist said. “Ultimately, we see our collaboration evolving into an even more strategic alliance – one that positions Tomball as a model for how chambers and EDCs can work side by side to drive sustainable economic prosperity and community success.”

As Executive Director of the Tomball Economic Development Corporation since 2011, and the City Planner for Tomball before that, Kelly Violette has played an integral part in Tomball’s immense growth – her role in guiding the vision and development of the Tomball Business & Technology Park is evidence of that.

Tomball’s transformation over the last several decades has not only expanded business and economic opportunities but also fostered an environment where women can thrive in leadership.

“We are fortunate to have strong women leading at every level of our community – including our Mayor, the TISD Superintendent, a city Councilperson, the Lone Star College–Tomball President, and County Commissioner,” Violette said. “This example of women at the helm has created a culture that empowers more women to step into leadership and business roles, driving innovation and ensuring our community continues to grow in inclusive and meaningful ways.”

Violette’s perspective resonates with other strong women across government, education and economic development who are also helping to shape Tomball’s future. These leaders share their candid feelings on the pressures women often feel to juggle work and family demands, the female role models who have offered invaluable guidance, and their advice for the next generation of women considering leadership roles.

Tomball Mayor  Lori Klein Quinn

From her days at Tomball High School to her time on the Tomball City Council to being elected Tomball Mayor in 2022, Lori Klein Quinn has, for decades, proudly served the city where she was born and raised. Mayor Klein Quinn credits her mother for ensuring that she and her siblings always prioritized the Tomball community.

“In the days when women were not expected to work after having children, she taught us that there is nothing you cannot accomplish if you set your mind to it, and that serving others is one of the greatest callings you can have,” she said. “I lost my mother when I was 19, but she remained a strong influence in my life long after she passed.”

Mayor Klein Quinn has this advice for women who are passionate about wanting to help shape Tomball’s future: “Get involved!” she said. “We have so many great organizations in Tomball such as Tidy Up Tomball, a brainchild of local business owner Amanda Trickey, who leads a twice-per-year cleanup event to pick up litter and maintain our parks and roadways. Tomball’s future rests on the collaboration and community of our citizens and businesses who call Tomball home.”

Dr. Lee Ann Nutt President,
Lone Star College–Tomball

Like Mayor Klein Quinn, Dr. Lee Ann Nutt understands obstacles that women can face, such as time pressure, competing demands between work and family, cultural expectations, and the potential conflict between career advancement and family responsibilities.

“Early in my career, I made two conscious decisions – first, I delayed having children until I was in my late 30s while I worked to finish graduate school and build my resume,” Dr. Nutt said. “Secondly, I prioritized the stability of my young children over rapid career advancement. I accepted this might mean not achieving my goal of serving as a community college president, so instead of relocating multiple times chasing promotions, I remained committed to excellence wherever I was, spending 12 years at my former college and now 15 years with Lone Star College.”

Dr. Nutt notes that only 33 percent of college and university presidents are women, but at LSC-Tomball, approximately 61 percent of the students are female, meaning the institution is serving almost 5,000 women in the community each semester.

“By providing accessible, high-quality education and comprehensive support services, LSC-Tomball doesn’t just educate women, we empower them to achieve their dreams, transform their lives, and strengthen our entire community,” Dr. Nutt said.

Dr. Martha Salazar-Zamora Superintendent, Tomball ISD

Dr. Martha Salazar-Zamora, the first female superintendent – and first Hispanic leader – of Tomball ISD, credits her mother and first-grade teacher for allowing her to keep dreaming and believing that no obstacle is too large to overcome.

“I was a child with profound hearing loss – this presented challenges for me, but not barriers,” Dr. Salazar-Zamora said. “My mother advocated for me as a child in special education that my disability would not limit my ability. I was also blessed with a first-grade teacher who took a special interest in me. These two early experiences began to shape my educational philosophy and began to shape me into the leader that I am today. I lead with the philosophy that anything is possible.”

That includes the unique challenge many women face of balancing career, motherhood and family.

“I stepped away from my first superintendency years ago to focus on being a mother first, knowing the time would come to return,” Dr. Salazar-Zamora said. “That decision didn’t prevent me from being an educational executive leader, but the pull that women feel to be all things to all people and situations pushed me to temporarily step back. Balance is tough for women leaders, but is a critical component of success.”

Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner

When Commissioner Lesley Briones took office in January 2024, she became the first woman to hold the Precinct 4 seat and the first mother elected in her own right to serve on Harris County Commissioners Court. Two firsts she says took far too long.

“Women are still substantially underrepresented in positions of power around the country and too often face higher hurdles to enter and stay in public life,” Briones said.

Briones, a mother of three daughters, says the need for more women in leadership is critical.

“Women bring not only the skills, vision and determination required of any leader, but also perspectives that have historically been missing from decision-making,” she said. “Women also tend to lean into collaboration. When those perspectives are at the table, our policies reflect more of the realities working families face, and decisions become more inclusive, innovative and effective.”

From advocating for family-friendly policies like lactation pods in County buildings, to seeking qualified women from diverse backgrounds to serve on boards and commissions, Commissioner Briones is opening doors to ensure women can lead boldly. 

“Women already serve as the backbone of our communities,” she said. “As more women step into civic and political roles, our future will be shaped by their leadership.”

As a City Councilmember, Lisa Covington, a 1992 Tomball High School graduate, has “the honor and responsibility of shaping the future of Tomball by making legislative decisions impacting Tomball.” In contrast, as the president of the TEDC Board, “I have the privilege of being a part of working with new and existing businesses to assist with their expansion into and growth within Tomball,” she added.

Covington does not feel she has faced gender-specific challenges in her career or as a councilmember but recognizes her belief that she can do it all while holding two influential roles in leadership could create challenges in the future.

“While this may not be a challenge limited to women, I think women often possess such passion and strong feelings about issues that impact families and children, that we tend to overextend ourselves,” Covington said. “I am blessed to have a great family and friend support system that makes it possible for me to serve the great city of Tomball while also focusing on my family and career.

Covington’s advice for women looking to serve in public office, economic leadership, or both, is “to focus less on their gender and more on how their valuable talents and perspectives can bring great things to our city.”

Going back to her time in California as Associate Planner for the City of Riverside, Kelly Violette has long been passionate about community building and creating opportunities for people to thrive.

“Economic development allows me to combine strategic planning with relationship-building, while directly impacting the quality of life for residents and businesses,” she said. “The opportunity to help shape Tomball’s future and support its growth has been both inspiring and deeply rewarding.”

Now that the Tomball Business & Technology Park project has become a hub for high-quality jobs and innovative companies, Violette is “especially excited about the upcoming redevelopment of the former First Baptist Church site in downtown,” which has the potential to transform the heart of Tomball.

Violette feels that women as business owners, executives, civic leaders and community advocates can play a vital role in the next chapter of Tomball’s economic story. She also encourages women to believe in their abilities, seek mentors and ask questions, embrace challenging opportunities, and to not be afraid to take up space in the room.

“Their voices and perspectives will be critical in ensuring Tomball’s economic growth remains innovative, inclusive and sustainable,” Violette said. “As more women step into leadership roles, they will help drive the city’s competitiveness while keeping community well-being at the forefront.”

Health & Wellness Committee

Expands Its Community Impact

Dawna Dyson was new to Tomball and looking for a like-minded group focused on the health and well-being of the community. She found just that with the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce’s Health & Wellness Committee.

Now the committee’s chair, Dyson continues to look for ways to not only expand the group’s offerings but the impact it has throughout the community.

For Dyson, joining the Chamber’s Health & Wellness Committee years ago was not just a professional decision but a reflection of the importance she puts on health and wellness in her life.

“For me, health and wellness means making daily choices that support long-term vitality – for myself, my family and my community,” said Dyson, a National Marketing Director with the Juice Plus+ Company. “Partnering with The Juice Plus+ Company in 2006 gave me both the tools and the platform to live that out. I’m thankful to be in a position to help others fuel their bodies with plant-based nutrition each day, while also being part of something truly unique and meaningful here in the Tomball Chamber.”

Over the past 15 years, the committee has built strong connections and relationships within the chamber membership and community and is comprised of those who generously share their time and talents.

The Health & Wellness Committee is a collaborative effort among the community’s healthcare entities, providers and related businesses to provide a platform for like-minded chamber members to collaborate, challenge and support each other, and further wellness initiatives that impact families in Tomball.

The committee’s programming has expanded over the years, as have the expectations for each event, Dyson said. For example, there has been an increased attendance at the free community luncheons where residents, providers and businesses can network, learn from local experts and gain access to valuable resources.

At the Tomball Night Health & Wellness Expo, this fun, family-friendly event helps increase awareness of local resources that promote healthy family lifestyles. The Chamber Cup Challenge, in its third year, meanwhile, encourages healthy competition, networking, and team-building among the participating organizations and is a newer event that is gaining in popularity.

In partnership with MD Anderson Cancer Center, the Health & Wellness Committee also hosts regular blood drives, giving community members the chance to give a life-saving gift.

Challenges the committee faces – which are not unique to Tomball – include the underutilization of preventative care for all ages.

“There’s also a need to equip families of our seniors and young people as they face their own set of challenges in our current day,” Dyson said. “In addition, there’s an ongoing need to stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices around health & wellness.”

Looking ahead, the Health & Wellness Committee is focused on increasing the community’s awareness of healthy lifestyles resources and improving coordination between community partners by becoming a hub for information-sharing.

“We also want to work to improve and add to our existing programming so that we remain relevant and continue to be seen as not only a committee within the Chamber, but also as a trusted community resource for health and wellness,” Dyson said.

Tomball Independent School District

Tomball ISD was once again named the No. 1 Best School District, Best Place to Teach, and No. 1 District with the Best Teachers in Harris County by Niche and was the only “A” rated school district in Harris and Montgomery counties.

Concordia Lutheran High School

With a mission of Building Lives of Excellence Upon the Foundation of Christ, Concordia Lutheran High School presents opportunities for students to excel in and out of the classroom, while growing spiritually and socially. The rigorous college preparatory curriculum and highly-trained and motivated faculty has prepared 98% of recent graduates to pursue higher education.

Concordia is a nationally accredited exemplary school serving families from 18 different Houston communities (45 zip codes), including the community CLHS calls home, Tomball. Situated on a 42-acre campus, it’s the largest private high school option in NW Houston with many different extracurricular offerings, as well as 16 AP and 8 Dual Credit classes. While it is Lutheran, Concordia welcomes students of all faith walks.

In a school of 565 students, Concordia students can be involved in multiple activities. Two-thirds participate in the 20 varsity athletic programs, while 35% compete in fine arts. The fastest growing program, Esports, boasts over 50 student-athletes and the first collegiate scholarship recipient in the program this past year. ComQuest Academy

ComQuest Academy (CQA) is a tuition-free charter school presently serving grades K-12. CQA is located in Tomball, founded in 1999 to provide students with school choice and better preparation for life after high school.

Classes at CQA are delivered through a direct instruction approach, with small teacher-to-student ratio sized classes. CQA has recently adopted and is currently implementing a state adopted, robust, TEKS aligned Bluebonnet Learning curriculum that focuses on developing student mastery of on grade level skills while also challenging them with critical thinking.

CQA partners with local Lone Star College to help ease the transition from high school to college. Lone Star College has recently opened their SCi-Fi Center, a Hub for students to expand their interests and learning towards STEAM pathways and engagement.

CQA’s CATE program offers students courses in workforce development with students aged 16 and older eligible to receive school elective credit while they earn a paycheck and work experience. CQA offers the opportunity to earn certifications in some employment areas. CQA offers STEAM-based courses including a recently added Applied Physics and Engineering course that is a STEAM-based science credit.

In addition to the academic program, CQA offers students opportunities to participate in tutoring, elective credit courses in project-based learning activities, outdoor learning with various projects including Horticulture and Gardening projects, Spanish classes, learning classical and cultural dances, musical program participation, building soccer skills, special sewing projects, cooking lessons, healthy living classes, and mini lessons to learn a variety of life-skills.

School releases earlier on Fridays to provide teachers additional training opportunities and time to meet with parents to collaborate on their student’s success and growth in academic improvement.

Crossbar Academy Crossbar Academy (CBA) combines faith, family, academics and soccer to create a culture of being “Champions for Christ.” In 2019, CBA was born, opening the doors with 12 students in an attic above a gym. Leadership North Houston Class XXX at graduation ceremony in May

Leadership North Houston

Leadership North Houston (LNH) is a nine-month program featuring both leadership skills training as well as monthly topical sessions including education, cultural arts, economic development, health and human services and more. Participants emerge from the program having increased their knowledge about the workings of the north Houston community and insight about how to make the most of their individual leadership style.

The program, formed in 1995, held its 30th annual graduation in May 2025 in which 11 Tomball participants graduated. They include: Zack Boles, Tomball Independent School District; Jason Brandolini, Huntsville Walker County Chamber of Commerce; James Chebra, Harris County ESD 11; Tracylynn Garcia; Chris Hunt, Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital; Dr. MJ Joseph, St. Luke’s Health-Vintage Hospital; Katie Kaisinger, Cy-Hope; Amy Keene, Brady Chapman Holland & Associates; Amanda Trickey, Modern Marketing & Media; Karina Weiss, D. Citizen of the Year – Raymond Francois

The Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce (GTACC) has recognized a citizen of the year since 1969, starting with G.W. Brautigam. The GTACC considers nominations of candidates that must live or work in the greater Tomball area, and their contribution to the community should be in civic, community, professional service, church involvement and/or service to the GTACC or other service organizations.

Raymond Francois was selected as the GTACC 2024 Citizen of the Year recipient by former Citizens of the Year and a small committee of community leaders.

Raymond Francois is a dedicated leader with a strong commitment to service and growth. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce, quickly stepping into the role of Vice Chair for Prosperity. As Chairman, he was instrumental in the Chamber’s success, particularly guiding the organization through the launch of a new logo this year. Prior to serving on the board, Raymond earned several accolades, including the 2019 Volunteer of the Year and 2021 Ambassador of the Year.

Beyond the Chamber, Raymond has been deeply engaged in the local community. He is a graduate of Leadership North Houston, has served on the Board of Directors for the Tomball Farmer’s Market. Raymond has also served on the City of Tomball’s Tourism Advocacy Committee and participated in both the Park’s Masterplan Focus Group and the Comprehensive Plan Focus Group for the City. His volunteerism extends to organizations such as Pennies for Haiti, Tomball High School NJROTC Booster Club, and Tidy Up Tomball, just to name a few.

Raymond lives in Tomball with his son, along with his family nearby, giving him ample opportunities to hang out with his favorite people in the world, including his nephew Rayginald.

Brenda Allen was selected as the 2024 Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce (GTACC) Ambassador of the Year. Brenda was presented the award at the GTACC First Friday Luncheon in January 2025. Each year the recipient of this award is chosen by peers from the team that make up the GTACC Ambassadors. Brenda has been a regular attendee at Chamber events for many years, including being emcee at many ribbon cuttings and Business After Hours. She is a consistent and welcoming presence at our networking events, as well at our annual event. Brenda is ready to lend a helping hand and one of the chamber’s biggest cheerleaders, always educating folks on the importance of the organization. She is a positive and enthusiastic leader and is a great role model for newer members and ambassadors.

The GTACC named Adam Harriff as its 2025 Volunteer of the Year. The Chamber staff selects the Volunteer of the Year for outstanding service to the GTACC throughout the previous year.

Adam is a newer face at the chamber but has become one of the most dependable volunteers at Chamber events over the past year, including being emcee at ribbon cuttings and business after hours. The chamber staff is thrilled to have Adam present at all these events, which include chamber monthly events as well as annual events such as the Chairman’s Ball, golf tournament, Tomball Night, Taste of Tomball, Tomball Holiday Parade and Miss Tomball Pageant. At all of these, he is continuously helping where needed and is proactive in gaining solutions to issues. He is present, always with a smile and a laugh, and eager to under how chamber events are operated. Adam has been and continues to be a reliable and valued asset to the chamber.

This past year, the chamber has been extremely active and having Adam’s positive and steady presence has assisted in making 2025 a wildly successful year at the Chamber.

Elena Gasparini was crowned Miss Tomball 2026 on November 22, 2025. Elena competed with thirty-three other impressive young ladies for the 2026 Miss Tomball title. Elena is a junior at Tomball Memorial High School and was the first and only drum major to serve as a sophomore in the school’s history. She is an UIL first division clarinet soloist, recipient of the American Heritage Girls Presidential Service Award, and owns a small business using her creative talents on nails and event banners.

She enjoys mock trials, We The People competitions, legal studies, and plans to attend law school at Vanderbilt University.

Each year, the Miss Tomball Pageant, sponsored by Aloha Beauty Lounge, is presented on the evening of the Tomball Holiday Parade, the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving. The Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce presents both events.

Four Corners carries rich historical and cultural significance

In the early days of Tomball, Four Corners – at the intersection of FM149 and FM2920 – served as an economic hub as the convergence of roads signified particular trade routes to market in Houston, enabling commerce and the exchange of goods, which would help shape Tomball’s economic development.

Today, Four Corners symbolizes Tomball’s identity from days gone by, says Bruce Hillegeist, President/CEO, Greater Tomball Chamber of Commerce. As a crossroads, the FM 149/FM 2920 intersection allowed interactions among diverse groups, allowing for the exchange of ideas, customs and traditions, enriching Tomball’s cultural heritage.

“The crossroads from virtually the beginning of this region’s existence illustrates change – former vacant land at Four Corners plus a few local businesses that defined the area and new businesses to Four Corners – now most every inch is taken with traffic 24/7 – has been a constant, steady growth,” he said.

But one thing has remained constant since the 1970s: The WELCOME TO TOMBALL erected by the Chamber of Commerce.

“Four Corners is part of the community spirit among residents, who know they are home when they reach Four Corners,” Hillegeist said.

Eileen Brautigam Allen recalls what Four Corners was like when she was growing up.

“FM149 and FM2920 [Farm to Market roads] were two-lane paved. When cars drove up to the intersection to STOP or to YIELD, very seldom were other cars around – very little to no traffic. Four Corners served as the ‘nucleus’ or ‘hub’ of Tomball and its outskirts. Four Corners was known as where all roads intersecting in that location would lead to Houston to the south; Waller to the west; Magnolia to the north; and Spring-Klein to the east.

On the southwest corner of Four Corners was Johnson’s Pontiac with a ‘swamp’ and wrecking/ salvage yard behind the dealership; near the northwest corner of Four Corners was Hirsch’s Liquor Store; for a number of years on the northeast corner of Four Corners was a grocery store owned by W.C. Brautigam (he eventually closed the grocery store)—he felt he was in competition with his brother, W. G. (and Lillie, wife) Brautigam (IGA Grocery Store) on Main Street between S. Walnut Street and S. Elm Street, near the Railroad tracks…then it became Froehlich’s Grocery Store; in the southeast portion of Four Corners, where today’s HEB is located, was a home and large tree, and nearer to FM149 was Grogan Lumber (sold lumber—had a large lumber mill in Magnolia—where the Grogan’s Mill Road name in The Woodlands comes from).”

Gayle Johnson Jones also gives her perspective of Four Corners.

“When growing up in Tomball in the 1960s (from a kid’s perspective ), Four Corners was very impressive. It was our ‘compass’ to everywhere. If you went north, you could reach Magnolia, going west would take you to Rosehill, Tomball was east, and the big city of Houston was to the south. These were the most important places to me.

My granddad owned Johnson Pontiac Company (Tomball Waller and 149), and I loved seeing whatever shiny new car was in the showroom. The Bonneville and the GTO were my favorites. There were peanut patties, moonpies, etc. in the candy machine and small bottle cokes. My granddad had a caged parrot named George who ‘visited’ with the customers. The employees were like family, and the customers were valued. I loved seeing the huge oak tree across the way, and Four Corners was very special to early Tomball!”

As Tomball grows, Four Corners represents opportunities for revitalization and urban planning, potentially becoming centers for new businesses and attractions, Hillegeist said.

“Simply put, it has gone from rural to a city-feel as the population has grown. Growing up, the population of Tomball was only 700. Currently, the population is approximately 15,000 within the city limits, and almost 750,000 in the 8-10 mile radius of Tomball,” said Wheeler Coe, longtime Tomball resident, business owner and real estate agent, former Mayor of the City of Tomball. “The two roads have gone from two lane roads each to five-lane roads, along with a six-lane by-pass to accommodate the amount of traffic in our area. Work continues today as a result of growth in the area.”

Future development at Four Corners can focus on preserving the historical aspects of the area while integrating modern amenities, ensuring that the rich history remains alive and relevant for future generations, Hillegeist said.

“Four Corners captures Tomball’s past, sustains its present, and paves the way for Tomball’s future, serving as a microcosm of the community’s development,” he said.

TIMELINE

1906

Town received original name of Peck.

1907

Town is renamed Tom Ball (later changed to Tomball) for the man considered to be the town’s patriarch.

1908

First school and post office established.

1913

First electric lights installed and telephone service introduced.

1914

Population reached 350; businesses included a bank, blacksmith, several stores, six hotels and two cotton gins.

1933

Oil was struck on May 27. Tomball, nicknamed “Oil Town U.S.A.,” was incorporated on
July 6 with a population of 665.

1960

Population reached 1,173.

1969

The Griffin Memorial House, built by Eugene Pillot in 1860, was relocated and dedicated at the Tomball Museum Center. It has since grown to a complex of 10 buildings including a farm museum that houses a two-story cotton gin, one of only two such in the state.

1984

Population reached an estimated 5,000.

1988

Tomball College opened as part of the North Harris County College District, forerunner to the North Harris Montgomery Community College District, now the Lone Star College System.

2010

Population reached 6,370.

Construction began on new Exxon Mobil campus.

2016

Completion of Grand Parkway.

2019

Completion of Highway 249.

2022

Total land increase to 13.09 sq. miles.

Population increases to 14,201
