AUMSVILLE

Aumsville is a small town with a big heart. Known for its vibrant community spirit, Aumsville expresses its unique fingerprint as home to the infamous Corn Festival. The town’s small size contributes to the close-knit relationships among residents. Outdoor Recreation

The crowning glory that connects all of our communities is the immense beauty where opportunities for outdoor recreation abound. Whether you crave the mountain air, the salty air of the Oregon coast or recreating in the desert of Central Oregon, all are within a day’s drive.

Enjoy fishing, boating in the lakes and river; go biking, hiking, mushroom hunting, camping and enjoy local waterfalls in our lush forests, or explore our numerous parks, take a Covered Bridge tour, participate in fun runs, outdoor concerts and festivals, movies in the park and more. There’s something for everyone to enjoy and explore!

Santiam Canyon

Santiam Canyon’s outdoor recreation opportunities are vast and varied. Hiking trails weave through old-growth forests, offering glimpses of hidden waterfalls and panoramic vistas. The terrain beckons mountain bikers, while campers find solace under the starlit canopy. Santiam Canyon is a playground for outdoor enthusiasts, where every trail, river bend and forest grove invites exploration.

Silver Falls State Park/Trail of 10 Falls

One of the best loved outdoor attractions in Oregon, hikers can see all 10 waterfalls in a loop trail. Those interested in a shorter experience can visit the most iconic spot, South Falls, all on paved trails.

Abiqua Falls

This 102-foot waterfall near Scotts Mills is part of the same geological formation that created the waterfalls at Silver Falls State Park.

Detroit Lake

Created by a dam construction from 1949 to 1953 on the North Santiam River, Detroit Lake is one of the state’s prime recreation spots, with year-round fishing as well as highly popular boating and camping each year with the high season from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Turner Lake

Formerly a quarry that filled with ground water, the area has become a popular local sot with the addition of a boat ramp, dock restrooms and other amenities, including kayak and paddleboard rentals.

Aumsville Ponds

The 77-acre site just outside of Aumsville is composed of wetlands and upland buffer areas and features a trail, wildlife viewing and a fishing pier. Bass, bluegill, trout and catfish are found here.

Lyons Bass Ponds

Just 1.4 miles from Lyons, the reservoir is a versatile fishing spot whether you are fly fishing, spinning or baitcasting.

North Santiam River

This major artery of the Santiam River gurgles through the Santiam Canyon and Stayton and features dozens of parks and stopping points to fish, paddle, kayak picnic, hike and camp.

Brian Haney Memorial Skatepark

1110 Main St., Aumsville. The skatepark is open until curfew, weather permitting. Helmets are required; no bikes allowed.

Porter-Boone and Boone Docks Park

1105 Main. St., Aumsville. The park offers access to Mill Creek, year-round ping pong tables, stage/gazebo covered area, disc golf, playground, walking trail and horseshoe pits. The shelter is reservable for events.

Wildwood Splash Park

700 N. 5th St., Aumsville. Year-round playground with covered picnic area and restrooms. Summer splash pad.

Church Park

Between Main and Starr on Pine St., Sublimity. The park features a veterans’ memorial, picnic shelter, playground, disc golf, horseshoe pits and running trail.

Early Settlers Park

West Main, across from the Sublimity Fire Station. The park offers a reservable picnic shelter with sink, play structures, baseball field and tennis court.

Northslope Park

Off Fern Ridge Road at the east end of Dawn Drive, northeast Stayton. The park has children’s play areas, half-court basketball and a picnic area.

Pioneer & Neitling Parks

Off Seventh Ave. and Marion St., adjoining the 55-acre Wilderness Park, Pioneer Park features play equipment, disc golf and the beautiful Stayton-Jordan Bridge. Neitling features an open grassy area and interior pathway system.

Riverfront Park

Following along the banks of the beautiful North Santiam River, this Stayton park is 55 acres of undeveloped land. Accessed by a pedestrian bridge from East Florence St., the park provides opportunities for hiking, fishing and dog walking.

Quail Run Park

Between Eagle St. and Meadowlark Dr., northwestern Stayton. This neighborhood park includes half-court basketball, playground, backstop for informal baseball, benches and a paved interior pathway.

Santiam Park

On the corner of Third Ave. and Wildflower Dr., Stayton. The park features a picnic shelter, play area with a foamy surface that lends the park its nickname (“the bouncy park”) and walking and bike trails along the wildlife sanctuary.

Stayton Dog Park

180 N. 4th Ave., Stayton. Dogs can play off leash in this fenced, tree-studded park open daily 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. There’s water for thirsty dogs and benches for people to sit and watch the fun.

Westown Park

On Westpark Court, West Stayton. This park features play areas, half-court basketball, two picnic tables and a drinking fountain.

Covered Bridge Tour

Enjoy our self-guided Covered Bridge Tours throughout Stayton and Scio!

You begin in Stayton at Pioneer Park, just off North Santiam Highway/22, where the rebuilt Jordan Bridge is located. Following the map, continue around the loop to visit Hannah Bridge, Shimanek Bridge, Larwood Bridge, Hoffman Bridge and Gilkey Bridge, ending back at Pioneer Park, where restrooms and picnic tables are available.

Your Chamber

The Stayton Sublimity Chamber is the regional Chamber serving local businesses throughout Stayton, Sublimity, Scio, Aumsville, Turner and Santiam Canyon. We also serve as the Regional Visitor Center with information for area tourists and locals alike, as well as individuals and families interested in relocating to one of our beautiful rural communities. Each community we serve is unique – however, together we form a network of support and service that blankets our entire region.

As your local Chamber, our mission is to be the driving force, igniting passion for business success and community livability. We seek to improve local economic vitality and with it community prosperity, by advocating for, promoting, and equipping our local businesses with the tools and resources they need to be successful. Furthermore, we initiate collaborative partnerships with local, county and state leaders, non-profit organizations and regional resource providers to help produce opportunities for the business community we serve. In addition, the Chamber promotes and produces local events including business networking, seminars and the beloved Santaim SummerFest.
