WELCOME

Pulling together our Community Resource Guide each year is always a challenge and a joy. Careful consideration is given to each article and the overall theme of what the resource guide should highlight, include or explore.

In this issue, we chose articles on subjects that affect our communities and the wonderful people who live, work and play here. One of those articles includes the use of AI Technology.

We tasked AHN/Highmark Health with writing the article about AI Technology, and they rose to the challenge. They have begun to incorporate AI Technology in patient visit transcriptions, capturing important verbal details that the doctor normally typed during the appointment or on evenings and weekends. This technology increases efficiency and valuable face time with the doctor and allows the doctor more time after office hours with family and friends. This is a perfect example of new technology aiding our workforce to boost more human connections.

As we all learn to embrace the new era of AI Technology, it is important to remember that no amount of artificial intelligence will ever replace human beings, how we gather and interact, and how the residents, business owners and leaders of this community sustain our region.

We welcomed over 1,000 people each week to our rebranded, reimagined Cranberry Town Square Market in June, July and August, and they shopped, laughed, dined and reclined on the lawn listening to live entertainment. All real people… enjoying human interactions.

We shine a light on the EMS warriors in our region with a beautiful article about their commitment to service, to saving lives and rushing into danger when most folks run the other way. They are human heroes, and we celebrate them.

We applaud Slippery Rock University for their dedication to workforce development in the nursing field. They understand the importance of training nurses who show compassion and empathy to their patients, developing a new program to ensure this career path is accessible and streamlined for those humans called to serve. Nothing can replace a warm smile and kind word from our health care workers.

We realize AI Technology, innovation and new ideas are necessary to improve our lives, increase productivity and protect our world. Used cautiously and responsibly, AI can greatly assist humans instead of replacing them. Let’s never forget that face to face conversation, touch, laughter, love, compassion, service and connection are the most powerful and important human things we can do. I hope this issue reminds you of all those human interactions, so we appreciate each moment with the ones we love.

More than a Market

A community celebration with a Town Square destination.

Cranberry Town Square Market started as a way for local businesses and residents to access essential goods during the COVID-19 pandemic. This weekly summertime community event, still centered on fresh produce and local goods, has evolved into a Friday night gathering place where neighbors connect, shop, dine, enjoy music and embrace the welcoming atmosphere of Cranberry’s Town Square.

Originally called Cranberry Farmers Market, the Cranberry Town Square Market started in 2020 with 40-50 vendors, farmers and food trucks set up in the front parking lot of the Cranberry Municipal Building. It spent a year in the back parking lot while the building was under renovation before being rebranded as the Cranberry Town Square Market in 2025 on the newly created Armstrong Great Lawn.

“The lawn and wide walkways provide such a beautiful space to welcome strolling guests, families and vendors, and our vendor capacity greatly increased allowing 80-plus vendors to join us this

season,” said Denise Martin, President of the Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber of Commerce (PNRC).

Make a quick-stop to purchase fresh local produce or stay to enjoy live entertainment, a petting zoo, kid-focused vendors, food trucks, a cocktail bar and a kid-friendly “splash fountain” on the lawn. “Guests stay longer, the crowd is bigger and we’ve created a destination location. We are so thankful to the vendors who participate and love giving them a dedicated space to sell their products and services. We couldn’t do this market without them,” Martin said.

Kyle Beidler, Cranberry Township Assistant Township Manager, has heard overwhelmingly positive feedback from residents and visitors about the market’s welcoming environment, the variety of vendors and the sense of community that the market creates.

“Throughout the 2025 season, we’ve seen more people coming out to shop, socialize and take part in the experience, which reinforces that the market is truly becoming a cherished part of community life,” Beidler said.

Given the absence of a traditional main street, the Town Square Market reflects the Township’s long-term vision of creating a true “center” where “residents can connect, engage and celebrate local life,” Beidler said.

The strong collaborative partnership between Cranberry Township, the PNRC and vendors has been a key element to the market’s growth. The PNRC manages the market, providing essential logistical support and coordination with the market’s vendors to ensure the event runs smoothly. Cranberry Township manages the marketing campaign, schedules live entertainment and assists with volunteers, event space preparation and facility needs.

The market’s success is also built on the contributions from a wide range of local vendors, sponsors, volunteers and community organizations.

“We are immensely grateful for the partnership with our Presenting Sponsor, AHN Wexford/Highmark Health, who have supported our market from the beginning. So many wonderful businesses sponsor our market demonstrating their care, commitment and investment in the well-being of our region. Every sponsor has an opportunity to take part in the event and talk with visitors about the services they provide to the community. It’s a great way to meet with area residents to address their needs and get more connected,” said Martin.

The PNRC also partnered with the Food Assistance Match (FAM) program and the SNAP program to allow an opportunity for qualifying families to shop locally for fresh produce, meats and other eligible foods being sold in the market. Dollars were matched with the FAM program, doubling the purchase power for the SNAP participants.

“From family-owned farms and artisan food producers to small businesses, crafters and nonprofit groups, each brings something unique that enriches the experience for visitors,” said Bruce Hezlep, Chairman of the Cranberry Township Board of Supervisors.

“Together with the Township and PNRC, these partners create a collaborative environment that not only sustains the market but also strengthens the sense of community and connection across the region.”

Each year, the PNRC recognizes dozens of individuals, nonprofits, and small businesses as Community Champions for the contributions they make to our region. Among these, we highlight:

Individual Honoree
Dr. Ann Gatty, President, Strategic People Solutions

As a business leadership development strategist, Dr. Ann Gatty is passionate about helping people hone their leadership capabilities.

A former PNRC Board Chair, she actively mentors, promotes and supports female entrepreneurs, elevating women in business and leadership, and encouraging mentorship and allyship amongst the women of the Pittsburgh North region.

Dr. Gatty founded the PNRC Women’s Leadership Roundtable to bring professional women together to build their network and gain support from like-minded colleagues who are implementing strategy, leading change and developing talent. She moderated
the panel for five years up until her retirement in December, introducing thought-provoking meeting topics, interactive after-hours events and an annual leadership event with remarkable female leaders sharing their experiences and insights.

In addition, Dr. Gatty works with other service-oriented organizations such as Butler First Church, and has raised therapy dogs for over 20 years that accompany her to various local hospitals, rehab facilities and senior communities to this day.

CANDLE, Inc./Reality Tour

An Independence Health System survey reveals that substance abuse is still a top concern among local parents. Community Action Network for Drugfree Lifestyle Empowerment, Inc. (CANDLE, Inc.) has innovated substance abuse prevention education for 20 years and counting through the parent/child Reality Tour.

Over 30,000 individuals in southwest Pennsylvania have been reached by this program, which is executed by highly trained volunteers and updated annually to foster informed decision-making skills and provide coping skills. Last year, the Reality Tour was honored with the Building Bridges Nonprofit Award for Most Impactful Program from Slippery Rock University, a PNRC educational partner.

CANDLE, Inc. has established strong partnerships with school districts within the Chamber’s footprint, including Butler, Mars and Seneca Valley, ensuring broad community engagement. Early investment in research led to the Reality Tour being recognized as evidence-based by the federal government’s Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Turo Family Chiropractic

The Turo’s office looks a lot like your typical single-family home in the Pittsburgh North region. This is most appropriate because, for the past year, they’ve made visiting Chamber staff and members feel at home.

When our newly created Thursday Chamber Connections meetings were in need of a home, Angela, Erin and Dr. Dan Turo stepped right up and wasted no time making attendees feel like family, regardless of membership status. Their hospitality skills have helped make Thursday Connections an indispensable resource to members who want to grow their network, advertise their business or just unwind at the end of the work week.

Furthermore, the Turo Family has been an active participant in our highly successful holiday Giving Tree program and in conversations with members about how the Chamber can better operate in 2025. When Dr. Dan is not in office, he serves as the president of the Pierce Results System Foundation, which promotes spinal health, and volunteers his time teaching basic and advanced continuing education seminars for students and doctors nationwide.

All seven were grateful for the fellow Chamber members, family, coworkers and volunteers who helped them achieve this highlight of their career.

Women’s Leadership Excellence Award

Sherrie E. Dunlap Gallagher
United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania

This year’s Women’s Leadership Excellence Award honors Sherrie E. Dunlap Gallagher, MBA, MSUS, for her outstanding leadership, achievement and contributions to the community. Dunlap Gallagher is currently employed full time and proudly serves as a Major Gifts Officer for United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania where she is also on the Women United philanthropic society team and serves on the Policy & Advocacy Committee.

Personally and professionally, Dunlap Gallagher positively impacts and inspires other women with her dedication and commitment to uplifting, encouraging and empowering women in the Pittsburgh North Region and beyond.

Dunlap Gallagher serves on the Board of Directors for Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber where she is also the Chair of the Legislative & Economic Development Committee. She serves on the Board for the Association of Ladies of Charity, Diocese of Pittsburgh where she is the Chair of the Social Media Committee. Dunlap Gallagher also serves on the Advisory Board for the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Saint Vincent College as well as on the Advisory Board for Butler County Community College’s Cranberry Campus.

She is a member of Saint Mark the Evangelist Catholic Parish and is a member of the parish’s Ladies of Charity service ministry. Dunlap Gallagher is also a member artist of Cranberry Artists Network, Latrobe Art Center, Butler Art Center & Gallery and The Hoyt, where she exhibits her photography.

Zach Marsh has dedicated his career to serving others in need, first working at the Homeless Children’s Education Fund (HCEF) and currently, as the director of communications, development & special events at Variety the Children’s Charity.

Since 2012, Marsh has dedicated himself to helping children with disabilities and their families to live life to the fullest at Variety, but he also dedicates his time and resources to other charities, including Beverly’s PGH, HCEF, Reagan’s Journey and the Highmark Caring Place.

“I am grateful to have even been nominated alongside such talented individuals, and really, I feel absolutely honored to win the 2024 Young Professional Award,” Marsh says. “This award means the world to me, and I’m thankful to be surrounded by the PNRC community!”

Turo Family Chiropractic is not just a business in the community; it strives to be a part of it every day, giving back and actively supporting the organizations and people that make it a great place to live and work. The business donates to and sponsors local activities, offers educational workshops about health at community events and hosted the PNRC Thursday Connections meeting at its office.

Those are just a few reasons Turo Family Chiropractic has earned this year’s Distinguished Business Award.

The Nonprofit Excellence Award recognizes Dress for Success Pittsburgh for demonstrating an exceptional ability to improve the lives of those it serves and be an inspiration to other organizations.

Dress for Success Pittsburgh’s commitment to women and non-binary people in Butler county extends far beyond clothing. Over the years, the organization has served as a safe, affirming, encouraging and hope-centered space for thousands on their journeys towards personal and financial independence.

“We do this work, not because it feels ‘good’, but because it feels right. To provide a space where someone can truly remember who she is.... We are so privileged to see this day after day,” says Liz Mims, director of community engagement.

Though called Dress for Success, the heart of the mission will always be about success. For every woman and non-binary person who connects with the organization, there is a unique success story of strength, resilience and infinite possibilities.

As a Relationship Banker with PNC Bank, Robin Golembiesky works with individuals and small businesses to find solutions for their short- and long-term needs. She focuses on providing guidance and working with her clients to help them achieve financial success in their personal and business lives. Golembiesky promotes the value and benefits of the Chamber and encourages others to explore the many events and programs of the PNRC.

Golembiesky is passionate about working with women in business and is a longtime public advocate for the Chamber’s monthly Women’s Leadership Roundtable event and helping to coordinate the extremely popular Women’s Leadership Roundtable Signature Holiday Networking event, hosted by PNC. Golembiesky has connected many eventual members with the Chamber, encouraging them to explore the many opportunities it offers, and to channel their passions into their membership.

“I’m honored to have been chosen for this award,” Golembiesky says. “It truly reflects the spirit of teamwork and dedication that makes this Chamber so special. I’m so incredibly grateful to be part of it.”

First Responders Face Funding Instability

They save lives every day, now they need your support.

Matt Nickl, executive director and chief of the Cranberry Township Emergency Medical Service (CTEMS), remembers a recent medical emergency involving a local police officer experiencing a heart attack. Thanks to the efforts of the CTEMS crew on scene and the hospital staff that treated the patient with a cardiac balloon, the officer was, within hours, talking with the crew that brought him to the hospital.

Christopher Dell, chief of the McCandless-Franklin Park Ambulance Authority (MFPAA), recalls a recent patient in North Park who was not breathing. The MFPAA crew that arrived on scene within five minutes successfully resuscitated the patient, who was discharged from the hospital three days later.

Despite these and other examples of their life-saving work, the CTEMS and MFPAA – similar to many EMS agencies in Western Pennsylvania – are not funded directly by tax dollars and face financial instability and staffing issues.

The CTEMS answers more than 4,000 EMS calls every year, while the MFPAA – which services the communities of McCandless, Franklin Park, Pine Township, Bradford Woods and Marshall out of three strategically located stations – responds to 9,000 ambulance emergency and non-emergency calls annually.

The CTEMS also prioritizes community education and risk reduction, offering educational programs such as CPR, first aid and stop-the-bleed training. “We also offer car seat checks for kids and our Safe Landings program, which provides CPR training, car seat checks, safe sleep assessments and child-proofing home inspections to new and expecting parents,” Chief Nickl said.

However, as is the case for many EMS services around the country, labor, supply and equipment costs are on the rise. For example, the cost of one ambulance increased from $168,000 in 2016 to nearly $300,000 in 2024. “CTEMS is fortunate that Cranberry Township provides $100,000 in like-kind services to help with these financial hurdles; however, our annual operating budget is $2.3 million,” Chief Nickl said.

Chief Dell understands these financial challenges. “EMS agencies are routinely at odds with many insurance companies due to changes in insurance plans that place more financial responsibility on the patient,” he said. “Oftentimes, patients may not be able to afford the deductibles or co-pays; this has become a growing financial problem for EMS agencies.” 

According to Michael Wholihan, MFPAA’s Financial Coordinator, only “39% of 911 responses are non-billable, and we’re only reimbursed for about 60% of ambulance transports.”

In terms of staffing, the CTEMS has developed a solid recruitment and retention program, Chief Nickl said, but the pool of candidates wishing to engage is dwindling.

“Fewer people are choosing EMS as a career,” Chief Dell added. “This results in some agencies being unable to recruit personnel.”   

Raising community awareness regarding the realities of EMS funding and staffing issues is critical. So is building connections and being present and approachable at community events.

“This allows us to engage directly with the public, answer questions and share what EMS does beyond responding to emergencies,” said Mandy Cousins, outreach coordinator for CTEMS.

The community can support its local EMS through subscription programs. An annual subscription for MFPAA services is only $60 per individual and $90 per household.

The CTEMS has an annual fund drive, including residential and business appeals. “We also offer sponsorship opportunities that local businesses can use to boost their marketing while supporting an essential service in their community,” Chief Nickl said. “Lastly, we provide membership drives for residents and companies, which write off a large portion of any balance bill that one may incur after being transported to the hospital from an emergency.”

Donations are also crucial to ensure that life-saving EMS professionals are always ready to respond – whether it’s to a local police officer experiencing a heart attack, a patient in North Park who isn’t breathing or a family member or neighbor in need. A local business leader recently wrote a $20,000 check to the MFPAA to invest in the community’s well-being, but even the smallest gift can make a big difference.

Women’s Leadership Roundtable Program Evolves

The Women’s Leadership Roundtable Program (WLR) has been an integral part of the Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber since its inception in 2019. What began with monthly roundtable discussions to bring women together to build their network and gain support from like-minded women discussing challenges and sharing successes to implement strategy has grown and developed into one of the premier Women’s Leadership Programs in the region. Quarterly Women’s Leadership After Hours events and an Annual Women’s Leadership Brunch featuring a panel of inspirational women leaders and a ‘meet & move’ with roundtable discussion topics have joined the monthly Women’s Leadership Roundtable Discussions to create a powerhouse program where the women of the Pittsburgh North Region are leading change and making a difference.

Dr. Ann Gatty, a past PNRC Board Chair, created the WLR for women to develop connections, foster open discussion and inspire allyship and mentorship. After founding and developing the WLR program for six years, Dr. Gatty was ready to transition leadership of the WLR. With her support and the support of PNRC president Denise Martin, it was an incredible honor for me to begin leading the Women’s Leadership Roundtable Program in January. The phrase ‘passing the torch’ is frequently used in describing transitions. One of my favorite quotes is from Gloria Steinem – “I’m keeping my torch, thank you very much. And I’m using it to light the torches of others. Because the truth is that the old image of one person with a torch is part of the problem, not the solution. We each need a torch if we are to see where we’re going. And together, we create so much more light.” I see what Dr. Gatty has done, what the WLR exists to do, and what I plan to continue, is building a legacy of using our torches to light the torches of others.

Decades of research shows that there are innumerable benefits when women are empowered and step into leadership roles. Women make up only 30% of leadership positions worldwide, but studies show that women in leadership bring unique strengths, increase productivity and enhance creativity and collaboration. When women support and encourage each other through mentorship and allyship, extraordinary things happen. Throughout my life, many women have inspired, mentored and encouraged me – family, friends, teachers, coaches, business colleagues and so many others. I would not be who I am today without the women who have used their torches to light my torch and encourage me as I take on challenges, step into leadership positions and use my voice to empower and encourage others. With the continued support and guidance of incredible women like my mentor and friend, Dr. Ann Gatty and my amazing mom, Nancy Regalski, who is one of the most inspirational women that I know, I look forward to leading the Women’s Leadership Roundtable Program and continuing to use my torch to create more light by lighting the torches of others.

Tomorrow’s Breakthroughs Today

AHN is at the forefront of clinical innovation, next-generation AI deployment.

A year ago, it might have taken Dr. James Solava of Allegheny Health Network all day — and often into the night — to transcribe his clinical notes and enter them into his patients’ electronic medical records.

But now, with the help of a new AI-powered clinical documentation technology from Pittsburgh-based Abridge, the process takes just a few minutes.

“It’s been transformative,” said Dr. Solava, a primary care doctor. “Many of our physicians have described the technology as ‘life-changing’ because they are able to leave work with an empty inbox and spend more evenings and weekend time with family and friends.”

Using a privacy-compliant smartphone app, or a PC with web recording capability, the Abridge technology securely listens to patient-clinician conversations and transforms them into clinical notes, with the patient’s consent. The conversation is then presented in real-time within the clinician’s existing workflow, allowing the clinician to review and edit the resulting note as needed. Once the clinician submits the notes, they are directly integrated into the patient’s electronic health record.

Automating what otherwise would have been a manual effort, the platform frees clinicians to focus more fully on delivering face-to-face patient care — rather than facing away from a patient and typing notes into a computer. In its own tests of ambient scribe technologies over the last year, AHN reported that 92% of patients felt their providers were more attentive during their visits when ambient scribe technology was being utilized.

The platform also reduces the after-work hours — known in the industry as “pajama time” — that doctors commonly spend editing their notes, reviewing EHRs and documenting after-care summaries. AHN clinicians who piloted the technologies reported dramatic improvements in documentation and workflow efficiency.

This summer’s Abridge announcement is just one of the many recent investments AHN has made into enhancing its clinical and technological capabilities. Earlier this year, AHN began installing new virtual care platforms at AHN Wexford Hospital and Forbes Hospital, the first steps toward establishing “smart rooms” across the AHN footprint and creating a more responsive and personalized health care environment for patients.

The new platforms from care.ai include a secure, two-way optical camera, a smart flat-screen monitor and AI-assisted ambient sensors that can detect when a patient is in distress. The technologies allow nurses and other caregivers to monitor patients remotely, communicate with them about their stay or their discharge instructions and prevent other potential health issues before they arise.

AHN also operates one of the nation’s few VECTRA WB360 systems, a full-body 3D imaging device that provides custom skin cancer surveillance and monitors skin abnormalities over time. The system captures patient images using 92 high-definition cameras and special flash lighting, generating a single 3D avatar of the entire body. The system’s software then utilizes AI to compare the patient’s moles with a set of images in the VECTRA database that have a known diagnosis. An algorithm quickly calculates a score to quantify the cancer risk or biological concern of the lesion, helping to guide the clinician as results are analyzed.

Addressing A Critical Nurse Shortage

SRU adds new 1+2+1 nursing pathway to help address RN shortage.

Pennsylvania is facing a critical shortage of nurses, with recent reported vacancy rates of 30% for registered nurses who provide direct care and an anticipated shortfall of more than 20,000 RNs in the state by 2026, among the highest in the nation. Slippery Rock University is helping provide an immediate solution at the lowest possible cost to future nurses by introducing a new nursing degree pathway.

Beginning in the fall 2025, SRU will offer a 1+2+1 nursing program where students:

1.  take general education classes at SRU in their first year,

2.  earned their RN at a partner institution in the second and third years, and

3.  complete their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at SRU or online by the end of their fourth year.

SRU has articulation agreements for this pathway with two institutions: Community College of Beaver County and the Allegheny Health Network Schools of Nursing. 

LOW COST, HIGH IMPACT

SRU’s annual tuition is $7,994 for in-state students, which is among the most affordable four-year options in Pennsylvania. Nurses with BSN degrees earn an average base salary of $96,000 per year, nearly $20,000 more than the average RN, which, over a 30-year career, can make a difference of more than a half million dollars.

Nurses working in communities also impact the local economy. The addition of one health care employee in Pennsylvania generates about $112,000 in direct economic output and more than $206,000 in total economic output, when including an employee’s purchasing, selling and other economic exchanges in a community.

THE SRU ADVANTAGE

The 1+2+1 nursing pathway at SRU is designed to help students complete their BSN in an efficient and cost-effective manner with an accessible and flexible route to becoming a registered nurse. After completing their third year, students will be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensure exam and begin working as registered nurses.

The BSN degree is completed in an online format that accommodates the schedule of a working professional.  

“The new 1+2+1 nursing program at SRU is designed to provide students with the skills they need to enter, adapt and thrive in the nursing profession and the ever-changing health care environment,” said Michele Crytzer, associate professor of nursing and department chair. “With the critical demand for nurses, SRU is leading the way for future nurses to earn their bachelor’s degree with the highest quality education in the shortest amount of time and with the lowest possible costs.”

BUILDING ON SUCCESS

SRU’s existing RN-to-BSN program was one of the first nursing programs in the country to offer classes completely online, but it requires students to have an RN before enrolling. It is designed to meet the needs of registered nurses looking to build on their associate degree or diploma education and earn their BSN. Most of the students in the program are working in the field and complete their degrees at their preferred pace through eight-week sessions each semester. Now, there is an option to start and finish at SRU.

15 Years in the Making

Aviva Brick Oven expands its tradition of fresh Italian comfort food.

Jay Sebes opened Aviva Brick Oven more than 15 years ago because of his love of food and desire to share fresh, comfort Italian food with a diverse community of diners. Sebes and his team have delivered just that, as Aviva Brick Oven has expanded with a new location in Harmony, three mobile food trucks with brick ovens
and a new partnership with the Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber of Commerce (PNRC) at the Cranberry Town Square Market.

Originally from the Pittsburgh area, Sebes worked in the restaurant industry long before opening Aviva’s Warrendale location in December 2008. While in school, he was a server and a restaurant manager. He also developed restaurant concepts for Hilton Hotels and catered aboard 50-foot sailboats on Lake Michigan while working at the iconic Drake Hotel in Chicago. Many years ago, Sebes also had a small restaurant and bar in Monroeville where he would serve sandwiches, salads, beer and wine.

These experiences have helped Sebes develop a love for food and understanding of how to create memorable dining experiences for guests of all ages.

“You could come to Aviva on a Saturday night at 4:30 or 5 p.m. and see the dining room filled with couples and families with highchairs,” he said. “By 7:30 or 8 p.m., the crowd shifts to younger folks coming out for martinis, wine and a night out. We don’t just appeal to one group – we cast a pretty wide net.”

Aviva’s menu is full of favorites, including the meatballs (Sebes’ team hand-rolls 300 pounds of meatballs every week), penne a la vodka, and of course, the brick oven pizzas.

“We’ve learned that if you try to take something off the menu, people get upset,” Sebes said. “That’s a good problem to have.”

In addition to Aviva’s Warrendale and Harmony locations – Harmony opened last October to serve that growing area of North Pittsburgh – Aviva’s mobile catering fleet of brick ovens has expanded its catering business, which is headed up by Sebes’ son, Joe, who started in the business as a 14-year-old and is now the director of food and beverage for all the restaurant’s locations.

“I was at a pizza show in Las Vegas about seven years ago, and when I saw a mobile food truck with a little oven, I knew I had to try it,” Jay Sebes said.

Aviva’s fleet of mobile food truck ovens has grown to three, and Sebes said a fourth truck could arrive in 2026. These mobile brick ovens are perfect for private events such as birthday or graduation parties or for community events when Aviva can serve 200-300 people per day.

As a new PNRC fundraising partner this summer at the Cranberry Town Square Market, Aviva served guests at its “Aviva on the Rocks” tiki bar. Aviva’s unique cocktails added to the fun “Friday night vibe” of shopping at vendor tents, dining, enjoying cocktails and listening to live music, said Denise Martin, president of the PNRC.

“At first, people weren’t used to seeing a bar at the Market,” Sebes said, “but once they experienced it, it became something people looked forward to.”

A portion of Aviva’s sales from the pop-up tiki bar were donated to the PNRC to support its ongoing mission of creating opportunities for business growth through networking, advocacy, cooperation and education.

“We are truly grateful for Jay and his team supporting the Chamber with this partnership,” Martin said.

The Township of Pine

Where Community Grows & Everyone Belongs

“While providing incredible recreation experiences is important, delivering innovative services to enhance quality of life is equally essential,” said Township Manager Jason Kratsas.

“Take our winter road maintenance, for example,” Kratsas added. “The state roads in Pine weren’t receiving the same level of care as our Township-owned roads. So, we developed an agreement with PennDOT where we maintain those state roads, and in return, they reimburse us through other infrastructure projects. Since then, our roads are safer in the winter, and our residents can travel more easily — no matter the conditions.”

Public safety remains a cornerstone of Pine’s values. The Township partners with three dedicated entities that provide top-tier emergency services.
