In addition to the massive print distribution, the directory will be prominently featured online with direct links to each member’s website. We are sure you will enjoy all of the pertinent community information, lively pictures of our many events, and direct links to our business leaders.
These are exciting times for our Chamber! Whether you attend one of our Business After Hours, Workshops, Committee Meetings, Luncheon Series, Coffee Connections, or Special Events, please reach out. We are constantly seeking new and better ways for our business community to grow and connect.
Thank you again for all of your continued support. The Petaluma Chamber of Commerce thrives solely on our membership as we receive no government funding. It is people like you who make the difference. We invite you to get to know other members of the community and we strongly encourage you to take advantage of all of the new programs, activities and benefits we have available to our members.

“In the professional world, especially in modern day professional police services, Leadership Petaluma provides a unique opportunity to engage with a cross section of community leaders and businesses. The relationships that are formed during the course help build a stronger and safer community through leadership development and networking.
You will find the program expands your knowledge of this great community and enhances business to business opportunities for organizations with similar missions. My suggestion to any organization looking to succeed in Petaluma would be to participate in this valuable leadership program.”
Police Chief Petaluma Police Department
“I was new to doing business in Petaluma when I joined Leadership Petaluma. Through the program I gained professional peers that I rely on to help me do business—and a bunch of good friends, too!”
“Leadership Petaluma gave me an invaluable opportunity to get an in-depth perspective of our city, its history, culture, business climate and government. Being a fairly new resident – and a very new business owner – every day was filled with information that was interesting, often profitable, and occasionally surprising. And classmates born and raised [in Petaluma] told me they experienced the same thing.
Leadership Petaluma quickly provided an opportunity to expand my professional network. More importantly, my Leadership classmates became strong personal connections that have lasted beyond the program. I was impressed by the commitment of the Petaluma Chamber staff in supporting the success of our class throughout the experience, and strongly recommend this experience to anyone looking to deepen their connection with our wonderful city.”

Why you should apply? It’s fun! You get to take a field trip once a month in Petaluma and learn a lot about your community! We’ve had Alumni tell us that they thought they already knew everything about Petaluma because they’ve lived here forever. By the end of the class, they were surprised at how much they didn’t know.
Leadership Petaluma offers an opportunity to invest, in the most direct way possible, in the future of the community.
Throughout this program, potential leaders are exposed to a wide range of ideas and experiences that will best prepare them to help guide Petaluma toward achieving its highest potential.
Leadership Petaluma provides a continuous resource of leaders by strengthening the qualities essential to all men and women who wish to serve effectively:
• knowlegde of community • individual leadership • civic responsibility
During the course of the program, members will develop the skills needed to participate in the processes that form the foundation of civic leadership–coalition building, significant and meaningful dialog, creative problem solving and consensus building.

The Petaluma Chamber of Commerce Petaluma Women in Business Committee is comprised of local business women who have come together for the goal of providing education, networking opportunities, business and philanthropic support to local business women.
We believe that women often carry the world on their shoulders and in doing so limit their personal and professional potential. We believe that given the time, space, support and information, women can balance their lives, lead successful businesses, and improve their community. We plan events, gatherings and work to give Petaluma female business leaders the resources they need to lead professionally, passionately, authentically from their heart.
The Petaluma Women in Business committee meets virtually on the 2nd Wednesday morning of each month from 7:45am-9am, and they have a social the 3rd Tuesday of each month at varying locations. Please check out their Petaluma Women In Business Facebook group for details.
The Petaluma Area Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee serves as a collective business voice in the community and as your business advocate at the City, County, State and Federal levels.

Petaluma Business Alliance
The Chamber of Commerce Petaluma Business Alliance Groups are comprised of members of different professions who come together to network, support each other, and share referrals. There is a total of 3 networking groups, meeting monthly on different days and times...one is sure to work with your schedule!
Group 1 is a Business-to-Business group, meaning the members do business with other businesses. Group 2 meets on the third Wednesday of the month. We are actively looking to expand our group. Each meeting, one does a presentation to promote their business. This brings a deeper understanding of how we can support each other. Group 3 puts a fresh spin on networking by integrating workshops into the meetings for a true hands-on way to share best practices! These groups have closed well over $1.5 million among themselves and provided valuable introductions, connections, and referrals. If you are interested in joining one of these groups, please call Suzanne Tucker for Group 1 at 707-225-5510, Connie Madrid for Group 2 at 707-765-0629, and Kathleen Stafford for Group 3 at 707-841-0268.
Petaluma Educational Foundation - Putting Education First for Over 40 Years!
In 1982, a group of teachers, business leaders, and community activists in Petaluma convened to develop funding solutions for area schools in response to major budget deficits throughout the California school system. The outcome was the creation of the Petaluma Educational Foundation, a privately funded, non-profit organization whose primary goal is to raise money in the community to benefit education.
As a non-profit, charitable 501(c)(3) organization, PEF creates impactful educational opportunities for all students in our community. We fund programs that promote critical thinking, creativity, student well-being, and lifelong learning. A total of $8,921,930 in financial support has been awarded through our grant and scholarship programs since the Foundation was founded. PEF receives no public funding. The Foundation raises funds from individuals, corporations, and foundations. In addition, PEF manages Alphabet Soup Thrift Stores with two locations in downtown Petaluma. All proceeds from Alphabet Soup benefit the mission of PEF.
Since 1983, PEF has granted more than $4,341,525 to teachers, administrators, and parents to fund projects not covered in the school budget. Our Grant Program aims to reward innovative academic programs and foster excellence in education for all Petaluma area students. During the 2022-2023 academic year, PEF awarded a record high of $244,816 to local schools for curriculum-based programs benefiting students in our community.
PEF is honored to manage 83 Scholarship Programs for donors who provide the Foundation with clear criteria for selecting recipients. In April 2023, we awarded $264,410 to seniors graduating from all seven Petaluma high schools, bringing the total to $4,580,405 awarded since 1990.
PEF manages over $5,363,414 (as of December 2021) in invested and endowed funds with clear directions on how the funds will benefit the schools in Petaluma. We also manage component funds for school-related organizations and clubs. With funding for our schools uncertain, the role PEF plays is more important than ever.
