Welcome to Petaluma! The Petaluma Chamber of Commerce is an association of business professionals working collaboratively to support and promote our healthy and vital business community. We understand that people do business with people they know and we are committed to helping you connect with those who will help your business grow.

Our new full color glossy edition is printed with the highest quality so that you can proudly share and display it in your office. Shelly Silva

Shelly is the Financial Director and serves as the liaison to the Ambassador team. She handles all financial matters, board reports and is the administrator for all Chamber committees. As Ambassador Liaison she gives advice and encouragement to help grow membership connections.

Raised in Petaluma and a graduate from St. Vincent’s High School, Shelly is a die-hard Warrior’s fan. According to Shelly, the sun rises and sets on Draymond Green! When there’s a game on, you can find her right in front of her TV. Shelly also loves to scrapbook and enjoys listening to country music while savoring a nice glass of Petaluma Gap wine.

Carrie Pierson

Carrie is the Membership Director. She is responsible for getting new and dropped members to join the chamber. She schedules business after hours and ribbon cuttings. Carrie is also on the Beer Festival Committee and handles the front gate the day of the event.

Raised in Petaluma and a graduate of St. Vincent’s High School, Carrie enjoys Wine Tasting, Skiing and Traveling.

WOMEN IN BUSINESS

The Petaluma Chamber of Commerce Petaluma Women in Business Committee is comprised of local business women who have come together for the goal of providing education, networking opportunities, business and philanthropic support to local business women.

We believe that women often carry the world on their shoulders and in doing so limit their personal and professional potential. We believe that given the time, space, support and information, women can balance their lives, lead successful businesses, and improve their community. We plan events, gatherings and work to give Petaluma female business leaders the resources they need to lead professionally, passionately, authentically from their heart. 

The Petaluma Women in Business committee meets virtually on the 2nd Wednesday morning of each month from 7:45am-9am, and they have a social the 3rd Tuesday of each month at varying locations. Please check out their Petaluma Women In Business Facebook group for details.

Government Affairs

The Petaluma Area Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee serves as a collective business voice in the community and as your business advocate at the City, County, State and Federal levels.

The Chamber is recognized as a lobbying force for business on local issues. The Chamber is also one of the most progressive in the area, a forceful advocate for affordable housing, transportation, best environmental practices for business and overall stewardship of the community’s quality of life.

The GA Committee meets twice monthly on the 1st and 3rd Fridays at 7:30 am.

Petaluma Business Alliance

The Chamber of Commerce Petaluma Business Alliance Groups are comprised of members of different professions who come together to network, support each other, and share referrals. There is a total of 3 networking groups, meeting monthly on different days and times...one is sure to work with your schedule!

Group 1 is a Business-to-Business group, meaning the members do business with other businesses. Group 2 meets on the third Wednesday of the month. We are actively looking to expand our group. Each meeting, one does a presentation to promote their business. This brings a deeper understanding of how we can support each other. Group 3 puts a fresh spin on networking by integrating workshops into the meetings for a true hands-on way to share best practices! These groups have closed well over $1.5 million among themselves and provided valuable introductions, connections, and referrals. EDUCATION

Petaluma Educational Foundation - Putting Education First for Over 40 Years!

In 1982, a group of teachers, business leaders, and community activists in Petaluma convened to develop funding solutions for area schools in response to major budget deficits throughout the California school system. The outcome was the creation of the Petaluma Educational Foundation, a privately funded, non-profit organization whose primary goal is to raise money in the community to benefit education.

As a non-profit, charitable 501(c)(3) organization, PEF creates impactful educational opportunities for all students in our community. We fund programs that promote critical thinking, creativity, student well-being, and lifelong learning. A total of $8,921,930 in financial support has been awarded through our grant and scholarship programs since the Foundation was founded. PEF receives no public funding. The Foundation raises funds from individuals, corporations, and foundations. In addition, PEF manages Alphabet Soup Thrift Stores with two locations in downtown Petaluma. All proceeds from Alphabet Soup benefit the mission of PEF.

Since 1983, PEF has granted more than $4,341,525 to teachers, administrators, and parents to fund projects not covered in the school budget. Our Grant Program aims to reward innovative academic programs and foster excellence in education for all Petaluma area students. During the 2022-2023 academic year, PEF awarded a record high of $244,816 to local schools for curriculum-based programs benefiting students in our community.

PEF is honored to manage 83 Scholarship Programs for donors who provide the Foundation with clear criteria for selecting recipients. In April 2023, we awarded $264,410 to seniors graduating from all seven Petaluma high schools, bringing the total to $4,580,405 awarded since 1990.

PEF manages over $5,363,414 (as of December 2021) in invested and endowed funds with clear directions on how the funds will benefit the schools in Petaluma.
