Welcome to Palo Alto!
On behalf of the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce, we’re delighted to welcome you to our remarkable

The Palo Alto Chamber is at the hub of Palo Alto’s vibrant economic scene, located in a friendly,
multicultural city with exciting educational and entertainment activities, surrounded by beautiful
baylands and open space, and year-round, outdoor recreational attractions.
Members come from throughout Silicon Valley and as far away as New York City, all seeking to connect in
the birthplace of Silicon Valley, where workers and residents enjoy an unparalleled quality of life.
From Fortune 500 global corporations to startups, from nonprofits to solo practitioners, award-winning
restaurants and hotels, corporate innovation centers from Europe and Asia, law and venture capital
firms, from Stanford University to world-class medical institutions and top public and private schools,
the Palo Alto Chamber members encompass the most unique membership group of any chamber in the United
States.
The Chamber is also the Palo Alto Visitor Center, the one-stop source of support and information about
Palo Alto and Silicon Valley for visitors and those relocating to Palo Alto, and operates as an adjunct
center of the San Mateo County/Silicon Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Tall Tree Awards
Palo Alto’s most coveted recognition, the Tall Tree Awards, are given to honor individuals and
organizations that have shown exceptional civic contributions and service to the community. The Global
Impact Award is given on special occasions to individuals who, through their work and civic
contributions, have had an impact far beyond our community that has made our world a better place.
ATHENA Awards
The ATHENA professional leadership awards recognize and honor the achievements of outstanding
professional and business women who excel in their chosen field, contribute to the community and open
paths to others so they may succeed.
Palo Alto Festival of the Arts
The Palo Alto Festival of the Arts, hosted annually by the Chamber of Commerce in late August, is the
Bay Area’s top juried art and wine festival. It draws more than 170,000 people with more than 300
fine art purveyors, food and wine booths, and staged music entertainers.
Leadership Palo Alto
Leadership Palo Alto seeks to motivate community leaders to become more engaged in the community
through 10 full-day, monthly sessions that provide the Fellows with a deeper understanding of the
interacting components of government, public safety, business community, economic climate, housing and
transportation, education, nonprofits, the environment and sustainability, health care systems and
Stanford University.

Things to See & Do Year-round fun in your backyard
Family Friendly
Parks – Twenty-eight neighborhood parks offer an assortment of amenities
including children’s playgrounds, picnic tables, playing fields and walking paths. Many parks
feature specialized facilities such as tennis courts, basketball courts, skate bowls, community gardens,
dog exercise areas and par courses.

Magical Bridge Playground – Designed to be a socially inclusive playground for
children of all ages, physical and cognitive abilities, Magical Bridge Playground addresses the unique
play needs of many kinds of children in the community, and allows everyone to play together on the
unique play-structures.
Junior Museum and Zoo – Great place for families to explore, discover, create
and play. The zoo is home to over 50 species, about 200 specimens total.

Theater and opera
Palo Alto Players – Come see a spectacular performance by the Palo Alto Players,
the Peninsula’s first theater company. Since 1931, Palo Alto Players has been continuously
producing quality live theater, including comedies, dramas, classics and musicals in Palo Alto.
Palo Alto Children’s Library – The oldest freestanding children’s
library in the country, it features a wonderful collection that includes picture books, beginning
readers, classics and contemporary fiction, nonfiction, and so much more. Media and magazines are
available for checkout as well.

Palo Alto Art Center – Take a look at the whimsical art galleries at the Palo
Alto Art Center, which features both local artists and featured work of talented students in the school
district.
Cantor Arts Center – Immerse yourself in the fantastic art collections at the
Cantor Arts Center. The arts center’s diverse collections span continents, cultures and 5,000
years of art history and include one of the largest presentations of Rodin bronzes outside Paris.

Anderson Collection – Stanford University has become home to the core of the
Anderson Collection, one of the world’s most outstanding private assemblies of modern and
