Current Projects
Las Palmas Pool & Camacho Gym Improvements
The project will improve the National City Municipal Pool by repairing/replacing pool deck drains,
refurbishing the deck, walkways, and locker room floors, upgrading security lighting, exterior painting
and repairs, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrades.
For Camacho Gym, improvements include refinishing the floor, interior painting, replacing roof vents
and exterior doors, roof repairs, and improving exterior drainage at the Recreation Center.
National City Street Resurfacing
On November 17, 2020, the City Council approved an agreement with Bucknam Infrastructure Group for the
Pavement Management Program (PMP) and street sign inventory. Bucknam conducted a pavement condition
survey to identify cost-effective strategies for funding Capital Improvement Program (CIP) street
maintenance and repairs.
Central Community Mobility Enhancements
The project will provide approximately 1.7 miles of bicycle facilities providing north-south
connections through the Central, Olivewood and Las Palmas neighborhoods in National City, including N
Avenue north of Plaza Boulevard for pedestrian and emergency vehicle, which currently does not
exist.
