BIPP: Business Issues in Public Policy
Chamber advocacy efforts start here. Stay informed on business issues that affect our city and our region at monthly meetings, and take action on important local policy matters. The Chamber directly engages with elected officials and city staff, authors letters of support and offers official public comment on issues that affect our city and region. As the voice of local business, the Chamber organizes public forums, information sessions and open discussions.

Leadership Mountain View
Leadership Mountain View (LMV) is a community and civic leadership program available to everyone who lives or works in Mountain View. Join us! Participants spend ten full Fridays between September and May in the classroom and on field trips developing their leadership skills and learning about Mountain View. Topics include city government, public safety, local educational systems, and human services, just to name a few. Our alumni include mayors, councilmembers, CEOs, small business owners, non-profit leaders, company employees, and involved community members. Scholarship Mountain View
Merit-based scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to pursue their post-secondary education, be it through community college, university, trade school, or special training. Funds are unrestricted and can be used towards tuition or any other education costs such as food, housing, transportation and childcare.
Artists Mountain View
This program is designed to help aspiring artists, musicians, creators and performers in our community. Business connections are made, your stories are amplified and venues are facilitated, bringing more arts, culture and diversity to Mountain View. Computer History Museum

Want to know the story behind Silicon Valley? Located at the entrance to the North Bayshore Business District on Shoreline Boulevard, this unique museum features fascinating exhibits about computer history,related technologies and their relevance in modern life. Children and adults love to explore the interactive installations while discoveringhistory they thought they knew.

Mountain View’s oldest home and one of the finest examples of Victorian Italianate architecture on the West Coast. The 12-room, 3,955-square-foot structure is decorated with classic period décor, and opens up to brick patios surrounded by manicured lawns, blooming flowers and natural areas.

On the edge of the San Francisco Bay is 750-acres of regional recreation and wildlife sanctuary with rare migratory birds. A network of trails, bridges and roadways weave through the park, which also offers a stunning eighteen-hole championship-level golf course, as well as a lake for kayaking and sailing.

This premier venue was originally designed by legendary promoter Bill Graham to resemble the Grateful Dead’s “Steal Your Face” logo. Located on the edge of scenic Shoreline Park, it holds up to 25,000 people for musical performances, private functions and corporate events.

If you are interested in history that includes major contributions to national security and the advancement of science and technology, this museum will fascinate, educate and capture your imagination. Moffett Field is home to Hanger One, a massive structure originally built to house the naval airship USS Macon.
Urban Trails
Permanente Creek Trail offers a linear route through the suburban city of Mountain View, beginning at Shoreline At Mountain View and heading south to Rock Street. The paved pathway includes safe passage over Highway 101 with a bicycle and pedestrian bridge.

Stevens Creek Trail is a five-mile trail that is open to both pedestrians and bikes. Enjoy woodlands, tidal marshes and city neighborhood parks as you wind your way to the Bay. The trail is open from dawn to dusk.

Interactive Tree Walks
Mountain View is home to a wide range of trees with a great sense of history and essential health, environmental and economic benefits for the community. Using your smartphone, explore the trees in our local parks as if accompanied by a knowledgeable arborist, thanks to Canopy, a local urban forestry nonprofit. The quarter-mile Pioneer Park Tree Walk (behind the Library at 585 Franklin St.) highlights 17 species. The half-mile Rengstorff Park Tree Walk (just off the parking lot of the Community Center at 201 S Rengstorff Ave.) features 19 species.

From the 1880s style train station to bustling El Camino Real, Castro Street is the center of Mountain View’s downtown. Stroll down this historic venue and you’ll find cuisines for every taste, as well as specialty shops, bookstores, coffeehouses, and sidewalk cafes. With lots of great parking, year round events such as the Farmer’s Market, the Arts and Wine Festival, and the City’s summer concert series provide a lively, fun and friendly environment. Walking tours are also available through the Mountain View Historical Association at mountainviewhistorical.org.

In the heart of Downtown you can enjoy year-round theatrical and musical performances by renowned artists, troupes and performers. Right in front, Civic Plaza hosts a number of public events and is a lovely spot to relax, enjoy a cup of coffee, and even play oversized chess.

Built in 1991, City Hall is the seat of local government. Its unique architecture is a cornerstone of the revitalization of Civic Plaza.

Booklovers are welcome to explore the 70,000 square foot state-of-the- art facility, which houses a 3-D printer, a seed bank, and a historical room as well as classes and events for children, youth and adults. The Mountain View History Center, located on the second floor, houses information about Mountain View’s past including books, maps, photographs, directories, newspapers, school yearbooks, and other artifacts. There’s even pieces from the Berlin Wall on display outside.

Outdoor art pieces can be found throughout the city, with some special treats right downtown. Look for “Boy and Girl Playing in the Calla Lily Field” by JoeSam (1992) or “Toad’s Book Club” by Albert Guibara (1999), which was inspired by Kenneth Grahame’s book “The Wind in the Willows.”
