Generally scheduled on the third Saturday in February- 10:00 a.m. The Lincoln Society is the oldest one
in the U.S. (circa 1903) and every year it commemorates a special event in Peekskill’s history at
the Lincoln Exedra Monument on South Street. It honors Lincoln’s historic railroad stop and speech

This parade is a fun-filled fundraising event for the whole family. Colorful, fanciful, and even

The Saturday before Thanksgiving
Caring for the Hungry and the Homeless of Peekskill (CHHOP) hosts its annual Turkey Trot on the
Saturday before Thanksgiving in downtown Peekskill. Participants take part in a 1-mile race and bring a
frozen turkey for donation to help benefit those in the community who are experiencing food insecurity.

starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Peekskill Middle School. The program is open to all Peekskill residents for
a chance to win a frozen turkey.

This month-long, most merry event celebrates the end of the year in holiday style, beginning with the
Christmas Tree lighting on the first Saturday in December, along with caroling at the gazebo and holiday
decorations, and ending with the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop.

Held on the first Saturday of December, join the City of Peekskill, the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber
of Commerce, and the Peekskill BID for the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony at the gazebo
located on the corner of Park Street and Division Street. Enjoy a ceremony that will feature live
performances as well as a special appearance by Santa Claus.

Join your friends and neighbors for a Winter Holiday Celebration! Enjoy festive songs before the
lighting of the Village’s Christmas Tree and display of the village Menorah. Santa Claus will also
be visiting from the North Pole! Special holiday treats will be provided. It is sure to be a festive and
fun evening for the entire family.
Holiday Home Decorating Contest
Croton-on-Hudson Village
Typically scheduled in the first week of December
Light up the winter by showing off your best seasonal display! Village residents may register their
home by Friday, December 12th. Participating homes will be featured on the Village of Croton Holiday
Home Map. The community will enjoy a self-guided tour throughout the village and will then have the
opportunity to vote for their favorite decorations. Contest winners will be announced in early January.
Prizes are awarded to the top three houses, receiving the most votes.
Letters For Santa

Children may write letters to Santa and will receive a personalized response back. Place letters in the
designated mailbox by December 13 (no postage is required). Letters must clearly include the
child’s name and return address (for Croton Village and Croton Harmon residents only).
Reindeer Run

Typically scheduled for the first Saturday of December - 8:00 a.m.
The Hudson Valley Irish Fest hosts its annual Reindeer Run starting at 8:00 a.m. Come on out and wear
your favorite holiday attire while helping local families this holiday season with a donation of new
unwrapped toys, winter hats, winter gloves, and/or non-perishable food items.
Winter Wonderland
