Granbury ISD
Innovation, Engagement, Leadership
The Granbury Independent School District’s mission, in collaboration with unique partnerships, is to provide a rigorous academic curriculum along with enriching and individualized opportunities, empowering every student to compete in an ever-changing world.
Consistently outperforming the region and state with an impressive 98% graduation rate, Granbury High School has been lauded by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top schools in the state and nation for college and career readiness based on demographics, college entrance exams and advanced courses.
GISD ensures that students are ready for university, community college, technical school or the military when they graduate. GHS offers numerous post-secondary opportunities, including transferable college credits. By the time students leave GHS, they can earn enough college credits for an associate’s degree.
Over the last four years, Granbury High School graduates received almost $22.1 million in scholarship awards to help finance their post-high school education. Students have been accepted all over the country, including Big 12 schools, Division I universities throughout the nation and military service academies.
During the 2018-19 school year, Granbury High School students completed 2,023 college hours through a dual credit program with Weatherford College. Students are maximizing their opportunities and building strong college transcripts while still in high school. GHS also offers Advanced Placement and other classes that can lead to college credit.

The Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program, or Junior ROTC, seeks to instill a value of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment. It was established by Congress in 1963 under Section 2301, Title 10, United States Code.
The mission is clear: to develop informed and responsible citizens with leadership skills, to strengthen character and promote an understanding of the basic elements and requirements for national security. Ultimately, this helps students form habits of self-discipline.
Culinary Arts Programming
