MEET THE CHAMBER

Robert Heidt

Job Title: President & CEO

Bio: Robert Heidt is the president and CEO of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce, the largest business organization in the West Valley and one of the largest Chambers in the State of Arizona. With more than 20 years of Chamber management, his Chamber career began at the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce as the Director of Membership and Community Relations, a position he held for more than seven years. Robert then relocated to Austin, Texas and assumed the role of COO and senior vice president of the Austin Chamber where he continued to reside for nearly five years. After leaving Austin, Robert moved to the northeast where he became the CEO of the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce just outside Boston, Massachusetts. His most recent transition occurred in October 2013 which brought him to the Glendale Chamber of Commerce where he assumed the role of president and CEO of the Glendale Chamber.

Robert, originally from Baltimore Maryland, served in the U.S. Air Force as a security police officer, holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and has worked in the casino industry with both Mirage Resorts and the Venetian heading up Casino & Event Marketing prior to his chamber career.

A graduate of Western Association of Chamber Executives (WACE) , Robert has served on the WACE Board of Directors, A current Board Member for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, is the current Chair of the FBI Board for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), is the CFO for Speak Up, Stand Up, Save a Life, and serves as chair of the West Valley Chambers Alliance and past-chair for Arizona Chamber Executives.

Legislation Offers Hope for Arizona’s Water Future

n July, the United States Senate passed the bipartisan Water Resources Development Act of 2022 (WRDA) and Arizona passed Senate Bill 1740 — a historic water infrastructure plan that invests more than $1 billion into efforts to expand and preserve water supplies in Arizona.

The WRDA aims to ensure Arizona water infrastructure projects can quickly receive more funding for existing flood control and infrastructure projects, clean up old uranium mines on tribal land, and ushers in the opportunity for more Army Corps assistance for drought mitigation projects in Arizona.

The legislation follows proactive, water-related efforts by the West Valley Chamber of Commerce Alliance, a group which represents six chambers (including the Glendale Chamber of Commerce) and 18 West Valley communities, representing constituents in the communities west of I17.

On June 23, the West Valley Chamber of Commerce Alliance held a special Water Forum to discuss the state’s legislation and water conservation issues at the Avondale Conference Center. In attendance were West Valley mayors, city council members, city water and economic development staff and business owners and members of the Glendale and other area chambers of commerce. The speakers at the forum included Jeff Gray, CAP Legislative Affairs Manager, Ron Klawitter, SRP Senior Principal, Water Systems Project for SRP, Doug Dunham, EPCOR Water Resources Manager, and Warren Tenney, Arizona Municipal Water Users Association (AMWUA) Executive Director.

This event educated more about the region and state's water supply, conservation and planning that is vital to our daily lives and businesses.

Among the topics discussed was the water supply legislation that was introduced at the Legislature on June 21. The panelists emphasized that the federal government, which largely funded the original Central Arizona Project (CAP) and Salt River Project (SRP) water delivery systems, no longer will produce the lion’s share of funding. Rather, state's now have a much larger responsibility to fund these water supply projects. As a result, it has become increasingly necessary to utilize public private partnerships.

The recently passed legislation appropriates more than $1 billion to the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority (WIFA) and expands it with new responsibilities to provide loans and grants to water providers and entities for the purposes of importing water into Arizona, conservation, efficiency and reuses, and new technologies. WIFA will continue to finance the design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects using federal and state funds. Now with the expansion, WIFA will pursue augmentation and conservation projects with a new board structure appointed jointly by the Arizona Legislature and Governor Doug Ducey.

Senate Bill 1740 gives WIFA additional authority and tools that will empower the state to be proactive in bringing in new water sources. The bill will allow Arizona to make significant investments in water conservation and innovative technologies such as desalination, as well as identify and develop new long-term water sources. WIFA will administer additional funds for water augmentation, supply development, conservation projects and more.

Through the funds, WIFA will have the ability to acquire, store and sell new imported water as well as engage in private-public partnerships to help enable these projects.

“Arizona has long been at the forefront of wise water management, as evidenced by decades of informed stewardship and major investments like the Central Arizona Project and Salt River Project,” said Dave Roberts, Associate General Manager at the Salt River Project in a press release. “The passage of this law to promote water investment ushers Arizona into the next era of water infrastructure planning.”

Glendale Positions Itself as a

Growth Leader in Arizona

ver the past decade and thanks to its leadership, the City of Glendale, City Council, Executive team and staff, have together created an optimal environment for advancement, betterment and growth.

Glendale’s economic development strategies have focused on increasing its tax base through targeting the creation of high-quality job opportunities. To mitigate any significant risks that could adversely affect the city during an economic downturn, the city has intentionally diversified its industries, creating a broad and stable range of new and on-going revenue sources.

To better understand the impacts of this growth and the impact on the community, the city commissioned a report from Applied Economics, one of the leading economic consulting firms in the Valley. This type of report provided exceptional sourced data and compared Glendale to the County against 18 benchmarks providing an exceptional learning opportunity as well as transparency and accountability. This historical foundational document can be used to benchmark forecast and plan into the future.

The report results tell an exciting story about how Glendale has transformed and accelerated over the past decade since coming out of the Great Recession. The pipeline of new projects is enormous, positioning Glendale to further cement its place as a growth leader, not just in the West Valley, but in the entire region. Glendale has the fifth highest concentration of jobs in the Valley of the Sun, in fact, higher than that of both Mesa and Gilbert.

The city has also refinanced significant portions of its bonded debt, improved its bond rating, and dramatically increased its general fund balance. Increased revenue streams have lowered the city’s cost to issue debt, providing for the city to improve the quality of life in the community by enhancing critical infrastructure, like roads, intersections, trails, parks, libraries, and other facilities.

The report focuses on a variety of key areas, including demographics, workforce and commuting, jobs, revenue, fiscal sustainability, benchmark comparisons and real estate.

Financial Sustainability:

• Both the general fund revenue per capita and Bonded Debt per Capita have significantly outpaced the County average. In Feb 2022, the city was rewarded for these efforts when S&P Global ratings upgraded Glendale’s existing General Obligation (GO) debt to ‘AA’ from ‘AA- “. At the same time, the City’s long-term rating on existing appropriation debt was raised to ‘AA-’ from ‘A+’.

• Over the past decade, general fund revenue increased by nearly 40% from $174 million in FY10 (adjusted for inflations) to $241 million in FY20. Annual general fund revenues are $62 million higher in FY20 than in FY15, with only a 6% population increase.

• Due to the increased investment from major global corporations that selected Glendale for their operations, one-time revenues have also increased from $4.5M in FY18 to $37M in FY21 on track for $44M in FY22.

New jobs:

• The number of jobs per capita is a measure of balance between residential and nonresidential development. Due to development activity, Glendale’s increase in labor force will be significant through 2050. At a current ratio of 0.40 jobs per resident, Glendale leads all West Valley cities and is ranked fifth in the County with more jobs per citizen than both Mesa and Gilbert.

New residents:

• Glendale added 21,000 new residents since 2010, with 64% of that growth coming since 2015.

• Another measure of growth is related to the average age of residents. Glendale boasts a higher-than-average population for those ages 18-24. This indicates that the number of working-aged individuals is also growing in the city, while those over 65 are lower than average.

New Annexations:

• A significant amount of the growth has taken place in the Loop 303 area, following 17 completed annexations encompassing over 3,800 acres. Construction sales-tax-revenue has increased by over 140 percent and planning and permitting fees increased by 192 percent year over year. Most of the annexations are industrial projects, many of which are already occupied and operational.

Rezoning of 188 acres in Glendale’s Sports & Entertainment District:

As a result of a multi-year public private collaborative effort, the Glendale City Council recently voted to approve the rezoning of 188 acres for mixed use development. The 188 acres are located south of Glendale Avenue and west of the Loop 101 in Glendale’s dynamic sports and entertainment district. This signature opportunity is prime for development, adjacent to some of the most iconic buildings and landmarks in the Valley, supporting a robust experiential entertainment and tourism mecca. Current estimates indicate that Glendale’s Sports and Entertainment District has over one billion dollars’ worth of active experiential projects under construction, with another half billion dollars of investment expected to commence within a year. There is no other place in Arizona that has this caliber and line up of high-end experiential retail projects. Additionally, the District has nearly 50 restaurants, almost 1 million sq. ft of retail, 22,500 parking spaces, a major Convention Center, the 72,000 seat State Farm Stadium and the 17,700 seat Desert Diamond Arena (one of the top concert venues in the Southwestern United States.)

This newly approved Planned Area Development (PAD) was strategically created to bring a high-quality master-planned development, providing the foundation for high-intensity, pedestrian active, mixed-use/urban growth. The PAD will allow for a cohesive development that will support economic growth through employment, residents, and additional entertainment venues in a hyper urban environment. The rezoning action provides appropriate entitlements to meet market demands by attracting the highest and best end-users to develop this uniquely positioned property. The city will continue to concentrate efforts on attracting additional private investments focusing on the experiential entertainment market. The opportunities are far reaching and within our grasp. The future is bright, exciting and entertaining in Glendale.

The Cardinal 95 Apartments on the corner of 95th Ave and Georgia Ave are currently being built on ten acres owned by Cardinal Land Holdings, with Mr. Ed Bailey, the managing partner of the firm. The Cardinal apartments are expected to be open in August 2023 and fully built out by December 2023 with all 198 units. This is the first phase of over 1500 apartments, retail and park planned for the 45 acres of the Cardinal property with two 15 -story apartment towers. “We have been told that Glendale City wants the Scottsdale look and feel,” said Mr. Bailey. “We are pushing the architects to do exactly that, and the drafts project this vision. Mr. Bailey said “This will be a very exciting, modern, and energetic community with a progressive dog park.”

Midwestern University:

Innovating Arizona Healthcare Education

Midwestern University is an established leader in healthcare education and one of Arizona’s largest and most valuable healthcare resources. Over a quarter century after building the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, Midwestern’s Glendale Campus has educated more than 14,000 healthcare professionals, with over 40% remaining in the state to practice.

Home to Arizona’s largest medical school and the state’s first veterinary college, Midwestern hosts nearly 4,000 graduate-level healthcare professions students among eight colleges and 23 different disciplines. The University has committed millions of dollars to providing an exceptional education that prepares each student to be “Day One Ready” upon graduation. The Glendale Campus offers cutting edge technology and facilities that allow students to train on the latest innovations in healthcare; experiential education in real-world clinical and community health settings; dual-degree programs in Precision Medicine and Public Health that prepare graduates to address global health issues; and much more.

West Valley Chambers Unite with a

Voice in Public Policy

he West Valley Chambers of Commerce Alliance (WVCCA) provides coordination of shared programs and benefits to advance the common business interests of the Buckeye Valley, Glendale, Peoria, Southwest Valley, Surprise Regional, and Wickenburg Chambers of Commerce.

Our six Chambers represent the “Voice of Business” for the towns and cities in the West Valley to include Avondale, Buckeye, El Mirage, Glendale, Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Peoria, Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise, Tolleson, Wickenburg and Youngtown.

The Alliance also serves as the public policy advocacy body on issues that impact the business and economic climate of the areas served by the participating Chambers of Commerce. To help in this initiative the WVCCA has partnered with Fennemore, a leading Mountain West regional law firm, to represent the collective interests of businesses in the West Valley on public policy issues.

A crucial part of a Chamber of Commerce’s role in the business community is advocating for pro-business policies. With this new partnership the WVCCA has committed to enhance their effectiveness of advocacy for issues that impact West Valley businesses. West Valley Chamber CEO’s and Alexis Glascock of Fennemore will be attending meetings with legislators and lobbying to champion the issues that are important to the West Valley.

The West Valley is a major economic driver in the state of Arizona. Increased legislative representation will help us to gain recognition for the economic impact being made. The purpose of partnering with Alexis and Fennemore is to give businesses a stronger voice in legislation and to represent the members that make up the six West Valley Chambers collectively.

As busy business owners, it is difficult to follow legislative issues and attend public meetings. Therefore, the CEO’s of the West Valley Chamber Alliance in partnership with Fennemore will be there to mine the hall of Government and promote pro-business legislation.

The West Valley is continuing to grow rapidly and the WVCCA is working diligently to ensure the business voice is heard in this trajectory. M

ana Au became a loan officer for a simple reason: he wanted to help guide others through the home-buying process with the same care he and his wife received a few years ago.

Au started working for Loan Depot in September 2021, and is happy to be part of a family-oriented company where coworkers step in to help each other when needed, he said.

A lot of people lost trust in the lending industry in the wake of the Great Recession, and it’s important to restore that, he said. “I wanted to bring more transparency to the industry,” he said. “I’m accountable to G-d before anyone else … that’s kind of where the moral compass lies.”

The 38-year-old is originally from Mililani, on Hawaii’s Oahu Island. After graduating high school, he got a job in construction, followed by 3 ½ years selling real estate, and then a return to construction work for 15 years.

He and his wife, Tabitha Wells, a tech sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, moved to Arizona last year — the same year they got married — when she was transferred to Luke Air Force Base.

The couple live in Waddell with their dogs, Gracie, a 12-year-old Italian greyhound, and Spur, a 5-year-old Labrador Border Collie. They had purchased a townhouse in Mililani that they now rent out.

Au said his job with Loan Depot builds on his real estate experience and his longstanding fascination with numbers. He also didn’t want to keep doing physical construction labor as he got older, he added.

He and his wife love Arizona and hope to stay long-term. However, should her job require another transfer, Au said he’s glad he can continue working for Loan Depot, which operates in all 50 states.

Au serves on the ambassador committee of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce, which he chose after vetting other chambers, he said.

“I just felt the connection that everyone had with each other. There’s just a different feel,” he said. “It’s a collection of like-minded people that are sincerely looking out for each other.”

“There’s a lot of great people that are part of it and everyone is there to help each other out and grow each other’s business,” he said. “There’s so many nonprofits there that are doing so many amazing things for the community, and every business member supports those entities.”

West Valley Women Networking Association

Recognizing this fact, an enterprising woman opened a networking business for female businesspeople in Scottsdale in the late 1990s and it was such a success that a second such enterprise was opened in the West Valley in 2005.

Lisa Platt served as the new organization’s administrator and within a few years was offered the opportunity to purchase it, which she did. Ever since she has served as the Chief Connections Officer of the 2022 West Valley Women Networking Association (WVW). The organization is in its 17th year of fostering business connections, networking opportunities and friendships for women in the community. They provide a venue for professional women to connect, engage and share with other women in the community at their fabulously fun networking events.

“Our goal is to provide a venue for women to build their businesses and professional networks by making connections at themed events,” Platt said.

“I joined the Glendale Chamber of Commerce six or seven years ago and try to attend at least two events each month because I believe that I am my own best advertisement. Showing up is key to helping me expand my sphere of influence,” she explained.

Platt is also on the Board of Directors of the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce and has been working to connect the two Chambers and their members through periodic events.

Cathy Carlat, Peoria’s first female mayor, was named the 2022 WVWN Woman of the Year.

“Mayor Carlat governs consistently and is supportive of initiatives for all. She is gracious, humble, strong and has had a very positive impact on her community,” says Platt.

Football’s Greatest Game to Come to Glendale - Super Bowl LVII

n Feb. 12, 2023 Arizonans will have another chance to watch the Super Bowl in their home state, with Arizona hosting its fourth Super Bowl at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Super Bowl LVII will be broadcast nationally at 6:30 p.m. EST. (3:30 p.m. MST) on Fox.

Superbowl LVII will be the third Super Bowl at that stadium, which changed its name from the University of Phoenix stadium in 2018. The last Superbowl at the stadium, which is home of the National Football League (NFL’s) Arizona Cardinals, took place in 2015. The first Super Bowl played in Arizona occurred on Jan. 28, 1996 at the ASU Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz.

Preparations are well underway for the game and related festivities.

In June 2022, The Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee announced plans to develop a free, multi-day, outdoor festival that will take place the week leading up to Super Bowl LVII at Margaret T. Hance Park in downtown Phoenix. The full day-to-evening event, like Super Bowl Central in 2015, is anticipated to draw fans regionally and worldwide.

In July 2022, the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee launched its volunteer program, TEAM AZ and announced it was seeking 5,000 high-energy individuals to help welcome and assist residents and visitors as they take part in events around the Valley for Super Bowl LVII.

“Having hosted the Super Bowl three times previously, Arizonans are well versed in how to welcome visitors and fans and help them enjoy their time here,” said Jay Parry, president and chief executive officer of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee, in a press release. “Creating a positive experience for guests is a top priority, and TEAM AZ will be at the forefront of making that happen. Plus, it’s a great opportunity for locals to be in on the action of Super Bowl festivities.”

Arizona’s Super Bowls in 1996, 2008 and 2015 brought great benefits to Arizona, with various studies revealing the game had a significant and lasting positive influence on economic growth and development.

In 2008, a Super Bowl impact study produced by the W. P. Carey MBA Sports Business program reported the week of Super Bowl events in Arizona that year generated a record $500.6 million in direct and indirect spending by visiting fans and organizations.

Packages From Home/Olga Tucker

fter serving in the U.S. Army and working as a paramedic, Olga Tucker devotes her life to helping fellow veterans.

Tucker, 38, works as event coordinator for Packages from Home in Glendale. The nonprofit serves active-duty U.S. military members overseas, including military working dogs and military K9s, as well as homeless, transitioning and at-risk veterans by providing them with requested food, hygiene and entertainment items. She also volunteers for other nonprofits that serve veterans.

Tucker explained she sought help from veterans’ groups while she was in crisis, and giving back has become part of her path toward healing from the enduring trauma of what she’s witnessed and lived through.

“Somebody helped me up the ladder, so I turned around and helped somebody else up the ladder,” the Peoria resident said. “It came natural to want to become a beacon of hope, or a light, for them.”

Tucker enlisted out of high school in her native Wichita, Kansas. She served for eight years, including a deployment to Iraq from 2005 to 2006. She got out of the military in 2012, returned to Wichita and started working as a paramedic.

She moved to Arizona in 2015 with her now ex-husband. Her world came crashing down two years later, when an abusive episode triggered a crisis and a diagnosis of complex PTSD. The condition is similar to PTSD, but with additional symptoms, and can be caused by experiencing recurring or long-term traumatic events.

Tucker said she’d struggled with her experience in the military, particularly her intense survivor’s guilt. Her work as a paramedic, with its constant exposure to other people’s trauma, also contributed to her C-PTSD, she said.

Over the next two years, she started to improve under the care of physicians and mental health professionals. Two things especially help her nowadays, she said: her service dog, Scout, and finding her “new mission” of helping veterans in need.

Scout, who will turn 7 in September, is a Czech German Shepherd who helped her gradually stop taking medications and provides daily support to help her manage her symptoms, such as detecting changes in her physiology like rapid heart rate or breathing.

Tucker said she doesn’t yet feel like her “normal” self, and might never again. Part of the journey is embracing “a new normal” that includes managing her condition, she said.

Tucker volunteers for Operation Enduring Gratitude, whose mission is to restore homes for veterans or the widows of veterans, and 22 Until None and Mission 22, two nonprofits that provide nationwide suicide prevention resources for veterans.

She’s also active with the Glendale Chamber of Commerce, which has been unfailingly warm and welcoming, particularly helpful because of her struggle with agoraphobia, she said. “A lot of the members have really gone out of their way to get to know me and to help create a space that feels natural for me.”

Despite her daily struggles, helping other veterans helps remind her of how far she’s come, Tucker said.

“It’s definitely helped me in my healing,” she said.

Glendale Chamber Partners With Vitalant to

Provide Lifesaving Blood to Those in Need

or four years, the Glendale chamber has partnered with blood services nonprofit Vitalant to promote lifesaving blood services and address a critical blood donor need within Glendale.

Vitalant has as its mission to unite blood and biologics donors, talent, and innovation to save and improve lives. Vitalant reports that 33,00 blood donors are needed each day to meet the blood needs of hospital patients in the U.S.

The Glendale chamber has supported three annual large-scale blood drives with Vitalant, in addition to a number of other virtual and physical drives throughout the year. These include the Mayor Weiers’ Blood Drive in January, the Westgate Kiwanis Drive in May and October, the Stand up for Veterans event in September and the Sounds of Autism event in the fall, among others.

In July, Vitalant recognized Glendale chamber donors, acknowledging that the more than 405 donations made from chamber members resulted in up to 1,200 lives saved.

Vitalant shared that over the past four years, more than 1,000 donations were made by chamber members. Leading donors include Harry Shapiro, John McCombs, Katrina Eaton and David Mitchell, who have each made 74, 50, 45 and 31 donations, respectively.

Eaton, who is an account manager with Vitalant, shares her appreciation for the chamber’s efforts. “Thank you, Glendale Chamber of Commerce,” she says. “Thank you for being our ambassadors, volunteers, coordinators and blood donors! The life of a hospital patient will be changed forever because of you!”

• Ambassador Committee: The Ambassadors are the welcoming ‘arm’ of the Chamber. The Ambassador Committee was created to help strengthen relationships with existing members and to assist businesses just starting up in the region. Their goal is to cultivate members, especially new and inactive ones, provide responses to the Chamber team regarding needs and issues of concerned members, and work to reinforce the benefits of Chamber membership to assist with member retention.

• Board of Directors: The Board of Directors is the policy body of the Glendale Chamber. Its members represent a cross-section of the business and professional leadership in the community. It has always been considered an honor to serve on the Board. Genuine and unselfish interest in the Chamber and its objective is the first requirement for Board members. The board performs the legislative function for the organization, that is, it makes all policy decisions for the Chamber.

• Marketing Committee: The Glendale Chamber thrives on gaining new members, engaging existing members and creating learning opportunities for the business community. The Marketing Committee is designed to increase Glendale Chambers brand awareness through marketing strategies that align with organizational membership growth and engagement activities. They work to add value to the Glendale Chamber by providing marketing workshops and programs designed to help Chamber member businesses.

• Military & Veterans Affairs

Committee (MVAC): The MVAC provides recognition and assistance to our local military community, which is comprised of active-duty personnel, reserve personnel, veterans and their respective spouses and families; helps members of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce conduct more business with Luke Air Force Base; and encourages businesses to hire veterans.

• Political Action Committee (PAC): The PAC works to educate individuals about candidates who recognize the power and impact they have on local businesses and communities, so that voters can make an informed decision.

• Public Policy Council: The Public Policy Council provides unique opportunities for business leaders to influence civic, social, and business initiatives that support community growth. As the voice of the business community, the Chamber offers leadership on issues that transform our community.

• Education Committee: The Education Committee is specifically tasked with connecting the needs of business with the passion of the education community. Collaborative dialog surrounding the development of skill sets geared toward industry need is crucial as employers continue to struggle in their quest to identify a qualified workforce. Uniting schools, business and the community around educational excellence, real world learning and mentorship will inspire innovation, drive growth, and attract investment.

• Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee: In April of 2022, the Glendale Chamber of Commerce formed a Diversity Task Force to champion the adoption of equality to include the LGBTQ inclusive non-discrimination ordinance in the City of Glendale that would prohibit discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations. On May 25, Glendale became the ninth Arizona City to officially adopt a non-discrimination ordinance protecting LGBTQ families and other groups. With the non-discrimination ordinance in place, the newly titled Diversity & Inclusion Committee is moving forward with a focus on the implementation of diversity and inclusion best-practices in the workplace and assisting employers in creating an environment that develops a robust pipeline of diverse talent.

We have worked together with the community to give residents and students the necessary educational, health, and social service resources needed to thrive and succeed.

At Pendergast, we feature two types of partnerships, one is the partnerships with parents/ guardians and the other is the partnerships with the communities Pendergast serves. Research is clear that parental involvement is a key to academic success for students. To that end, we have focused our efforts on developing shared academic partnerships with families through: monthly free district informational parent luncheons, parent advisory committees at each school site and at the district level, school meetings for families on topics of interest, and more!

Another type of collaboration is our partnerships with the community. A variety of business, leaders, and community based organizations have stepped up to partner with our schools to offer Academies, afterschool sports and clubs, help students plan for their successful futures through project-based learning, and prepare students for careers by supporting career exploration field trips and experiences.

Our partnership with the business communities is key to creating a future ready workforce. Pendergast students get hands-on, real-world work experience that helps them gain a better understanding of the specific skills and education employers are looking for. Since Career and College Readiness is what Pendergast is striving for, partnerships show how it can work for everyone.
