ABOUT THE CHAMBER

What is the Columbia Chamber of Commerce?

Since 1905, the Columbia Chamber of Commerce has been a voluntary, member-supported organization of business, industrial and professional people who are dedicated to developing, promoting and maintaining a healthy economic climate for Columbia. The Chamber is a non-profit 501(c)(6) organization funded by membership dues, programming and events.

In keeping with its strategic plan, the Chamber serves as a convener of inclusive collaboration, a catalyst for a thriving community and a champion for business. The Chamber continues to innovate to meet the needs of its members and the general business community, including recent investments in providing community leadership in the areas of workforce development and diversity initiatives.

The Chamber has around 980 members including businesses of all sizes, from one-person shops to large corporations. Around 85% of the Chamber’s membership is made up of small businesses with 25 or fewer full-time employees.

The mission of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce is to lead our community, drive commerce in our region and advance community and regional collaborations, thereby enhancing the quality of where we live, learn, work and play.

Through a persistent commitment to our mission, the Chamber sees a future characterized by unprecedented achievements in both public policy and economic vitality. The Chamber is dedicated to nurturing and providing leadership to ensure community aspirations become realities.

A Voice for the Business Community

The Chamber maintains a consistent presence at the Missouri Capitol in Jefferson City and at Columbia City Hall to advocate on behalf of its members for pro-business policies and legislation. Chamber staff have developed relationships with decision-makers in every industry to ensure that they can assist members with a variety of needs.

A Place to Connect

The Chamber hosts events throughout the year to allow members to build and solidify relationships. These programs are a time for our business community to gather as one. Events include four Quarterly Membership Breakfasts, Chamber Classic Golf Tournament, Economic Outlook Conference, Small Business Week, Showcase CoMo, Civic Appreciation Breakfast, Agricultural Recognition Banquet, Legislative Reception and the Annual Membership Banquet.

An Opportunity to Grow

The Chamber also offers educational programming including candidate forums, leadership development programs and small business seminars. These educational opportunities are intended to empower attendees to engage with our community more deeply and grow their businesses to their full potential.

Chamber Divisions

Ambassadors serve as the welcoming arm of the Chamber. Ambassadors host ribbon cuttings and assist at large Chamber events such as Showcase CoMo and Quarterly Membership Breakfasts.

Emerging Professionals in Columbia (EPIC) provides space for young and emerging professionals to connect and grow their professional networks and leadership skills.

Women’s Network connects, empowers and engages members through leadership development, educational opportunities and innovative outreach.

Workforce Development was created to meet the business community’s workforce needs. The division’s mission is to retain talent in Columbia while helping to build a strong workforce for tomorrow.

Chamber Affiliations

Columbia Chamber Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation formed exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes. The nine-member Columbia Chamber Foundation Board of Directors includes individual officers and the President of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce.

Columbia Community Alliance enables the Chamber to promote Columbia and Boone County and to advocate with one voice for issues of importance to our region. It comprises the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, City of Columbia, County of Boone, Columbia Public Schools, Moberly Area Community College, University of Missouri and the Columbia Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Chamber Committees

Agribusiness & Bioscience Committee – Supports and stimulates the growth of agribusiness and builds awareness of agricultural issues within the Chamber and the surrounding community.

Budget & Finance Committee – Assures the financial solvency of the Chamber.

Showcase CoMo Committee – Creates an annual large-scale networking, sales and marketing opportunity for business professionals and the community.

Chamber Classic Golf Tournament Committee – Creates an annual fundraiser event focused on networking opportunities among business professionals, friends, clients or prospects.

Emerging Issues Committee – Provides a forum to discuss issues that affect the business community.

Government Affairs Committee – Provides leadership, information and advocacy that enhance the economic environment and represents the interests of the Columbia business community.

Membership Committee – Works to grow Chamber membership and educate our members on the importance of active involvement with Chamber activities.

Small Business Committee – Promotes small business growth, profitability and recognition.

Total Resource Campaign – Plans and implements the Total Resource Campaign, the Chamber’s annual fundraising campaign.

More reasons to love the area

Whether hiking or biking along a trail, visiting a renowned museum or visiting a local restaurant, there is plenty to do in Columbia for residents and visitors alike.

The variety of enjoyable activities are a main reason why Columbia has been rated one of the top places to live and retire and ranks as a top 20 college town.

Here are some of the reasons why residents and frequent visitors to the area love it so much:

There are 63 miles of trails and dozens of parks in and around Columbia, which means there is always so mething to do outdoors. Whether you love disc golf or discovering new places to ride your bike, it’s all here.

You can find adventure at Finger Lakes and Rock Bridge Memorial state parks. At Finger Lakes, thrill-seekers will find trails and motocross tracks in the rolling hills, as well as opportunities to kayak, paddleboard or canoe. When visiting Rock Bridge, hikers can trek popular trails and caves like Devil’s Icebox.

Other notable parks include:

•  Philips Park: The 140-acre park is known for its 40-acre fishing lake, which is stocked with fish by the Missouri Department of Conservation. The park features a fishing dock, boat dock, picnic areas and a 1.4-mile gravel trail around the lake. It also includes the Columbia Sports Fieldhouse, where you can play basketball, pickleball, volleyball and archery. Reservations are available by calling (573) 874-7460.

•  Bonnie View Nature Sanctuary: The area covers 93 acres and is next to the Columbia Audubon Nature Sanctuary. It serves as the trailhead for the Scott’s Branch Trail.

•  Clary-Shy Community Park: The park includes the Activity & Recreation Center, the MU Health Care Pavilion, which is the site of the Columbia Farmers Market, and a playground and soccer practice fields.

•  Stephens Lake Park: It features an 11-acre fishing/swimming lake, collections of several types of mature trees, and plays host to community festivals, an outdoor concert series and winter sports.

•  Cosmo-Bethel Park: The park is next to Gentry Middle School and covers 40 acres. It includes a fishing lake with a lakeside trail, horseshoe pits and a lake stocked with trout as part of the winter trout fishing program.

•  Norma Sutherland Smith Park: Next to Alpha Hart Lewis Elementary School, the park covers 50 acres and includes a 2.8-acre pond, basketball court and skate park.

Walkers, joggers, runners and cyclists of all ages and fitness levels will love the trails Columbia has to offer. The 8.9-mile MKT Nature and Fitness Trail has been ranked as the second-best urban trail in the nation by USA Today and links to the Katy Trail, which nearly crosses the entire state of Missouri.

The Bear Creek Trail links two premier parks – Cosmo Park and Albert-Oakland Park – and is about 4.8 miles long. For a shorter excursion, check out the beautifully wooded, 1.7-mile Scott’s Branch Trail.

Also, the Grindstone Creek Trail, a 1.75-mile concrete trail, goes from Grindstone Nature Area east under Old 63 through Waters-Moss Memorial Wildlife Area and generally follows Grindstone Creek to the confluence of the north and south forks, and then angles north to McGuire Blvd. At Grindstone Nature Area, it connects to the Hinkson Creek Trail, which makes up part of the southern and eastern portions of the proposed 30-mile trail loop around the city. The Hinkson Creek Trail, which is a partnership with the City of Columbia and the University of Missouri, covers about 7.5 miles of off-trail and sidewalk.

You can also enjoy a stroll on the beautiful and expansive University of Missouri campus and see the nationally recognized David R. Francis Quadrangle. Nearby, the five-acre Shelter Gardens at the headquarters of Shelter Insurance features thousands of annuals and perennials, a waterfall, gazebo and a rock garden.

There are plenty of places where you can enjoy the arts in Columbia, whether you want to spend hours in a museum or stroll past free public art displays.

At the University of Missouri’s Museum of Art and Archaeology, you can explore collections from Africa, Oceana, the Americas and more. Other museums of interest include the Boone County History & Culture Center and the Museum of Anthropology. The Museum of Art and Archaeology and the Museum of Anthropology recently moved to new homes on the University of Missouri campus. Visitors to the area are encouraged to call ahead or visit the museum’s website for new location information.

There are many galleries in the area, including the Columbia Art League Gallery, Sager Reeves Gallery and Artlandish Gallery & Emporium. More than 150 artists of all media work out of the North Village Arts District, including painters, jewelers, dancers and filmmakers.

Columbia is home to dozens of free public art displays, and some artists have used non-traditional canvases that are part of the Traffic Box Art project located throughout the community.

You can also check out a performance or event at downtown spots such as the Missouri Theatre or The Blue Note, and many other sites at local colleges or around town.

If you like to spend time shopping, checking out a variety of restaurants and going out for a few drinks, Columbia is your kind of place.

One of the most popular areas for all three activities is The District, an area that covers 50 square blocks downtown bounded by three college campuses. There are five sections to discover – the Sharp End, Government District, North Village Arts District, the Strollway and Flat Branch. Businesses include restaurants, art galleries, local retailers, theaters and event spaces.

Columbia has a wide variety of restaurant offerings, covering traditional American fare, Italian, Japanese, Mexican, Middle Eastern and much more.

Events and activities for all

There are plenty of well-known places to visit in the Columbia area – from the University of Missouri campus to area museums – and also some hidden gems you might not know about.

The area also has a strong selection of events that are worth checking out every year.

Here are some ideas if you’re a resident or stopping by the area for a visit:

Hidden Gems

Some of the coolest spots in Columbia are outdoors and might inspire you to take a hike. For example, check out the scenic overlooks at Capen Park, just a few minutes south of the University of Missouri campus.

The 31-acre park has bridge connections
to Grindstone Nature Area and Hinkson Creek Trail.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial at Battle Gardens is also a great site to see. In addition to the beautiful garden area, it features a memorial sculpture by noted artist Barbara Grygutis. The area is near the MKT Trail and is often the site of outdoor weddings and other events

You might also want to see one of the most resilient natural attractions in Columbia – the McBaine Bur Oak, a large tree that’s about 400 years old near Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area. The bur oak is the only tree for several hundred feet in any direction. It has a circumference of 287 inches and is 90 feet tall, has survived lightning strikes, floods and much more.

A more unconventional attraction is BoatHenge, a set of boats buried vertically in the ground that appeared after the major flood of 1993. It is located near the Katy Trail along the Missouri River and is the creation of unnamed artists.

For a quick getaway, check out nearby Rocheport, a Boone County town that is along the Katy Trail with a winery, a shopping district, galleries and remarkable bluffs and hills.

For entertainment, check out a show by the Columbia Entertainment Company, which was founded in 1979 as a community-driven, professional-level theater group. Also, the Maplewood Barn Theatre group – the only mid-Missouri theater under the stars – performs frequent shows at Nifong Park.

Get a little exercise along with a history lesson by walking the African-American Heritage Trail. A series of historical markers, beginning at the J.W. “Blind” Boone Home several hundred feet in any direction. It has a circumference of 287 inches and is 90 feet tall, has survived lightning strikes, floods and much more.

One of the University of Missouri’s most unique features is the pair of white stone lions near the School of Journalism. The statues are more than 500 years old and used to guard a Confucian temple in China. The university received them as a goodwill gift in the 1930s from the Chinese government.

First Fridays Art Walk

The North Village Arts District offers a free art crawl on the first Friday of each month. From 6-9 p.m., you can tour galleries, shops and businesses and see musical acts and art demonstrations. True/False Film Fest

Feb. 29-March 3

Documentary films, music and art are the highlights of this five-day festival. Film screenings, concerts and events take place at 13 locations around downtown Columbia. Art installations and other unique cultural experiences are available throughout the weekend as well. Festival passes at different levels give you perks and the advantage of reserving tickets online. Earth Day Celebration

April 21

The Columbia Area Earth Day Festival features food trucks, booths and music, as well as family activities. For event details, visit columbia earthday.org.

Family Fun Fests

3rd Wednesday of the Month,
May-September

Fun Fests will occur at different parks from 6-8 p.m. on the third Wednesday from May to September. Hot Summer Nights

June and July, Various Dates

Musicians from the Missouri Symphony Orchestra will perform a variety of compositions at the historic Missouri Theatre. The professional orchestra includes guest artists from across the globe. For information, visit themosy.org/summer-music-festival/.

Art in the Park

June 1-2

Art in the Park, which is organized by The Columbia Art League, is a free two-day event at Stephens Lake Park highlighting art in every medium. Browse paintings, ceramics, textiles, sculptures, jewelry and other unique items and meet the artists who crafted them. The Veterans’ Art Exhibit showcases the works of local and regional Missouri military veteran artists, and an Emerging Artists Exhibit presents the skills and talents of up-and-coming artists in Boone County. Younger art lovers will enjoy A Kids Art Spot, the Young Collector’s Tent, activities and face painting. There also are food booths and entertainment features.

The five-day Boone County Fair includes family favorites such as livestock shows, live entertainment and carnival rides at the Boone County Fairgrounds. There is also a bear show, petting zoo and other kid-friendly events each night. On the Monday before the show, judges review many entries in the annual Ham Show, and people can bid on them.

Moberly Area Community College

Moberly Area Community College is a public, nonprofit community college with campuses

in Columbia, Hannibal, Kirksville, Mexico and Moberly, and online. Degrees and certificates can be earned in over 40 fields of study, ranging from four months to two years. MACC degrees can be used for a wide range of career opportunities or transfer to four-year colleges or universities.

MACC’s Workforce Development Center works closely with area partners to provide academic programs and customized workforce training that meet the needs of businesses within our service region. A wide variety of short-term certificates, short-term training programs and customized training are available to help people start a new career, obtain a credential for employment, update technical skills and more.

MACC collaborates with the Columbia Chamber of Commerce on workforce-related issues and others in the business community. This collaborative effort has led MACC-Columbia to offer training in advanced manufacturing, mechatronics, computer-integrated machining and other highly technical fields.

MACC also prepares many students each year for careers in the healthcare field, including practical nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, surgical technology, occupational therapy assistant and certified nursing assistant. Stephens College

Stephens College, founded in 1833, is the second-oldest women’s college in the country and is located right next to downtown Columbia.

William Woods University

William Woods is known for its strong traditional academic programs like Business and Education, as well as its unique offerings like its nationally-renowned Equestrian Science degree program.

Columbia Public Schools

The Columbia Public School District has plenty to offer students, from early childhood education to 12th grade, with programs that help prepare them for the work world and post-secondary education.

The district is the fifth-largest in the state and is made up of 21 elementary schools, Seven middle schools, four high schools, an early childhood program and the Columbia Area Career Center. Total enrollment is approximately 18,800 students.

Some facts about the district:

•  The district’s graduation rate exceeds 90% and nearly 70% continue their education beyond high school, at a 4-year, 2-year or post-secondary training program.

•  Nearly 90% of graduates take the ACT. District scores on the ACT and SAT scores are consistently higher than state and national averages.

•  About 1,300 students take advanced placement courses, with more than 70% earning college credit.

•  More than 72% of district teachers have a master’s degree or higher.

•  The district is ranked among the top 10 for exemplary and innovative use of technology by the National School Boards Association.

•  The district is nationally recognized for financial excellence by the Association of School Business Officials International.

•  The district is nationally recognized for its efforts to remove achievement barriers for children by the National School Boards Association and the American School Board Journal.

•  The district focuses on putting its scholars first through achievement, enrichment and opportunities for success, which includes access to a great curriculum, experiences beyond the core curriculum and interest-based activities before and after school.

•  The district’s Early College Program allows students to earn both a high school diploma and a 2-year college degree simultaneously.

•  Construction is under way for the Boone County Nature School. The school is a partnership between CPS and the Missouri Department of Conversation to provide access to learn about nature and the outdoors. The 8,000-square-foot school building will be finished in 2024, and Boone County fifth-graders will be able to start programs on the school site. The program will be used by all six county school districts.

•  The district has a long-range facilities and financial plan. As part of the plan, voters approved a no-tax-rate-increase bond issue in 2022 to renovate the district’s Career Center and build a new elementary school in south Columbia, off of Sinclair Road next to John Warner Middle School, among other necessary facility improvements.

Christian Fellowship School

Students from more than 35 congregations in the Columbia area attend Christian Fellowship School, a college-preparatory and Christ-centered institution. CFS has close to 500 students from pre-K through 12th grade.

Established in 1981, CFS teachers and programs help students grow academically, as well as in character and spiritual life. CFS students score on average four points higher on the ACT than their peers in the state of Missouri. More than 95% of CFS graduates continue their education, with acceptance in dozens of colleges, universities and trade schools across the country in recent years.

Columbia Independent School

About 400 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade attend Columbia Independent School, a private prep school.

CIS focuses on global perspectives, preparing students for college and life beyond. Curriculum is designed to prepare students for the rigorous academic life in college and beyond in the global world. The school has small class sizes, a close-knit community, dedicated faculty – 75% with advanced degrees – and lively and engaging classrooms.

Students can enhance their natural curiosity through hands-on experiences in the Center for Inspiration, Innovation
and Investigation, known as The Cube.

Fr. Tolton Catholic High School

Fr. Tolton Catholic High School, which opened in 2011, is named in honor of Fr. Augustus Tolton, the first African-American Catholic priest in the United States.

Approximately 350 students attend Fr. Tolton Catholic High School, which has an average ACT score above the national average, a 16:1 student-faculty ratio and a strong track record of preparing students for college.

The school’s challenging college-prep curriculum is designed to ensure student success in higher education by offering AP and dual-credit courses and partnering with the Columbia Area Career Center to offer a multitude of electives. Not only are Tolton students strong academically, but the Trailblazers also boast 19 team state championships, along with multiple Individual state champions. Extracurricular activities are encouraged and contribute to the personal growth of students as well-rounded individuals, promoting an appreciation for teamwork and providing opportunities for leadership development.

Tolton Catholic also offers a House system designed to enhance the development of the entire student through the pillars of spirit, heart, mind and body. MU Health Care

University of Missouri Health Care is an academic health system — mid-Missouri’s only — with a mission to save and improve lives. Caring for patients from each of Missouri’s 114 counties, MU Health Care’s experts treat the simplest and most complex medical conditions, discover breakthroughs and train the next generation of health professionals to do the same.

With over 8,000 physicians, nurses and health care professionals across more than 80 specialties, including 25 pediatric specialties, the health system works together to give patients seamless care with the most advanced treatments and safest procedures. Serving more than 350,000 patients each year, MU Health Care facilities include Capital Region Medical Center, Children’s Hospital, Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, Goldschmidt Cancer Center, the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute, Missouri Psychiatric Center, University Hospital and Women’s Hospital, as well as multiple quick care, urgent care, primary care and specialty care locations throughout the region.

In June 2024, MU Health Care will open its new Children’s Hospital and Birthing Center on its hospital campus in Columbia. Boone Hospital Center/Boone Health

Boone Health is a vital health care network in mid-Missouri, with a hospital that has been named the top facility in the region for eight years in a row by U.S. News & World Report, and is mid-Missouri’s only Magnet® Designated Hospital for Nursing Excellence.

Boone Health is made up of a network of primary care offices, private practice clinics, outpatient services and affiliated hospitals, including Boone Hospital Center, a 392-bed, full-service hospital in Columbia. The network provides health care programs, services, and technology to residents in a 26-county area around Columbia.

In addition to the top regional ranking by U.S. News & World Report, the hospital was listed as High Performing in abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, aortic valve surgery, back surgery, colon cancer surgery, heart attack, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, hip replacement, knee replacement, leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, prostate cancer surgery and stroke.

Boone Health celebrated its 100-year anniversary in 2021 and enjoyed its first full year as a newly independent health system in 2022. The community has benefited from this change – in the process of going independent, Boone Health created about 160 new positions and invested millions of dollars in contracts with local companies for services such as IT support and marketing.

Truman VA

The staff at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, is committed to excellent patient care, education and research. Truman VA offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient health services to veterans from 43 counties in Missouri, as well as Pike County, Illinois.

Each year, approximately 40,000 veterans access services from Truman VA providers who specialize in primary care, women’s health, medical and surgical specialty care, behavioral health, physical and occupational therapy, pharmacy and more.

In addition to the main hospital in Columbia, Truman VA also offers health services to veterans who live in rural areas. The medical center’s eight community-based outpatient clinics are located in Camdenton, Jefferson City, Kirksville, Marshfield, Mexico, St. James, Sedalia and Waynesville.

Truman VA was the first veteran’s hospital in the country to collaborate with the National Center for Patient Safety as part of the “Hospital of the Future Project,” and continues to lead the way to an improved patient and employee experience by working toward becoming a high reliability organization (HRO).

“Our goal when we committed to becoming an HRO was to create a shared philosophy that led to exceptional, highly reliable care,” said Lana Zerrer, MD, Chief of Staff and Interim Director of Truman VA. “Effective HROs continuously evaluate, design and implement procedures that eliminate emerging threats through awareness. Issues almost never are identical. That’s why we felt it was so important to create an environment of high reliability, to enable us to anticipate concerns and mitigate consequences before they occur.”

The three main initiatives Truman VA has focused on are leadership engagement, widespread staff participation, and implementation of “Just Culture” principles.

“To be a true HRO, the strategies you develop must be governed by Just Culture values,” Zerrer said. “The key to practicing Just Culture is to create an environment where staff understand they should continuously analyze and report issues without fear of retaliation. That doesn’t mean our culture is blame-free. It means we work to balance the cause of each issue with an appropriate response that eliminates recurrence.”

Some examples of high reliability processes initiated by Truman VA include physician-led daily briefings, discussions that incorporate the voice of frontline staff, leadership’s commitment to clinical team training, and dedicated staff huddles. Additionally, simulation-based risk assessments are made prior to the activation of new patient care services.

Another key component of innovation and reliability is modernization. Truman VA is committed to modernizing care for veterans — a concept of continual improvement to infrastructure, equipment and services.

In addition to veteran care, employee satisfaction is an important measure of Truman VA’s success on its journey to high reliability. The medical center was ranked No. 1 in the nation for employee satisfaction for three consecutive years (2017, 2018 and 2019) through VA’s All Employee Survey.

“Our team is committed not only to the veterans we serve, but also to each other,” Zerrer said. “It’s in an environment of trust and self-worth that we have the greatest ability to provide excellent, meaningful care for our nation’s heroes.”

Twin Transportation Investments Fuel Mid-Missouri’s Future

Columbia is on the cusp of a transformative leap forward. Two major infrastructure upgrades—the expansion of Interstate 70 and the return of United Airlines to Columbia Regional Airport (COU)—are set to elevate the region’s connectivity, economic capacity, and overall quality of life.

Together, these long-anticipated investments are not only modernizing how people move through and beyond Columbia—they’re powering the region’s future. From safer highways and reduced commute times to more flight options and business attraction, the impact will ripple across the community for years to come.

Expanding I-70:
Paving the Way for Growth

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) officially broke ground on the Columbia-to-Kingdom City segment of the I-70 expansion on June 13, 2024. This stretch, one of the most congested in mid-Missouri, is the first major phase of Governor Mike Parson’s vision to widen I-70 to six lanes across the state.

This isn’t just about convenience—it’s about capability. I-70 is a critical freight and commuter corridor. Every day, thousands of trucks, travelers, students, and emergency vehicles rely on it. Modernizing this highway will help reduce accidents, improve drive times, and accommodate future population growth.

“Expanding I-70 is more than a road project—it’s a commitment to safety, mobility and regional strength,” said Eric Kopinski, MoDOT’s Program Director. Crews are focusing on expanding lanes and replacing outdated infrastructure—all while maintaining strict work zone safety protocols.

The benefits will extend far beyond the asphalt. Improved flow on I-70 supports industries dependent on logistics and timely access to markets. From agriculture and manufacturing to education and health care, nearly every sector of the regional economy relies on this interstate.

COU Takes Off: United Airlines Returns

Just as Columbia is widening its roads, it’s also widening its air horizons. Starting Sept. 25, 2025, United Airlines will return to Columbia Regional Airport, offering twice-daily flights to Chicago O’Hare and once-daily service to Denver. This announcement marks a major milestone in restoring and growing air service for mid-Missouri.

The new service responds directly to community demand. A 2024 Passenger Demand Analysis ranked Denver and Chicago as the most-requested destinations. The flights will be operated on CRJ-550 aircraft featuring United First, Economy Plus, Wi-Fi and in-seat power—bringing premium air service to local travelers.

“This return signals not just an airline’s confidence, but a vote of confidence in Columbia’s future,” said COU Airport Manager Mike Parks. “It opens new doors for business, leisure and academic travel while reducing the need to drive hours to St. Louis or Kansas City.”

Two Projects, One Vision: Regional Access and Opportunity

While one project stretches along the ground and the other soars through the skies, they are deeply connected. Both I-70 and COU are essential gateways—critical links that tie Columbia to the rest of the nation.

Improving both road and air access creates a stronger foundation for business attraction, workforce mobility, tourism and innovation.
