Burnet has been officially recognized by the Texas legislature as the “Bluebonnet Capital of Texas.” Spectacular displays of wildflowers are abundant throughout the Lakes and Hills regions. The prime time to view the flowers is late March through mid April. The best places to see bluebonnets in Burnet are at Haley Nelson Park (US HWY 29 W.), Burnet Municipal Airport (US HWY 281 S.) and Wallace Riddell Park (US HWY 29 E.).
