Bike Path from Brewster to Mahopac

A nine-mile stretch of the Empire State Trail, the Putnam County Trailway travels from Brewster to
Mahopac and provides magnificent water views of the Middle Branch Reservoir, Lake Gleneida and Lake

This conservation area consists of over 800 acres and is Putnam County’s largest. The
property was once owned by Walter G. Merritt. It was previously known as Merritt Park and consisted of
around 600 acres. Explore this 5.7-mile loop trail near Patterson, New York. Generally considered a
challenging route, it takes an average of 3 hours and 7 minutes to complete. This is a very popular
area for hiking, snowshoeing and running.
• Castle Park

Castle Park is in the Town of Southeast. It is a great place to spend the day with kids. Go down
the slide and swing on the set. There is a basketball court and tennis court. Go biking on the Empire
