WELCOME

Welcome to the 2025 edition of the Birmingham-Bloomfield Chamber’s membership directory and community resource guide. We trust you will find this information valuable in discovering hidden gems in our six member communities, identifying new dining and shopping opportunities, and connecting with a thriving business community that makes our area the special place it is to live, work and play.

We are excited to share exciting stories and trends taking place in the six towns that make up the Chamber’s physical footprint of Birmingham, Beverly Hills, Bloomfield Township, Bloomfield Hills, Bingham Farms and Franklin. The Chamber staff, our Board of Directors and Ambassadors work tirelessly to advocate on behalf of the entire business community and residents with our government leaders, strengthen the overall business climate in our towns and improve the quality of life for our residents and guests.

This past year was one of transition for the Chamber team, as we said goodbye to longtime Operations Manager Sheryl Geralds, who retired to spend more time with her family and travel the country in their RV. In addition, our veteran Events and Marketing Manager, Kelly Bennett, transitioned to the operations role, and we also welcomed new Membership Engagement and Events and Marketing managers.

All of the turnover was not without its challenges, but we have a dynamic new team in place that is positioned to do amazing things for our more than 650 member businesses comprising the chamber.

As you will see in the following pages, the Chamber provided a robust lineup of offerings throughout the year including the ever-popular Village Fair, industry forecast sessions, and professional development and networking opportunities. In-person attendance at Chamber programs continues to grow as we set another attendance record for the Village Fair and our monthly member coffees regularly draw more than 70 members.

With the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic largely behind us, the Chamber is committed to re-engage and grow our 501c3 Foundation, which was created to gather and harness the collective strength of our member businesses to improve the quality of life in our communities and beyond. The foundation later this year will be offering academic scholarships to Chamber members or their family members who intend to stay in Michigan to study at a local university, community college or vocational training school. More details to come.

Finally, we couldn’t provide the level of programs and services we do without the amazing work and support of our corporate sponsors, featured speakers and industry experts whom we draw on to provide insightful and meaningful information. For that, we are eternally grateful.

A Year in Review

■ January – The popular monthly Member Coffee kicked off the new year, hosted by the Pink Fund with over 90 members and guests in attendance.

■ February – Chamber 411 was held at The Avalon of Bloomfield, offering new and current members an opportunity to learn how the Chamber can assist their business.

■ March – Hylant in downtown Birmingham welcomed guests to the Business After Hours Mixer, fostering networking in a relaxed setting.

■ April – The Village Club served as the venue for the three part Forecast Breakfast Series, drawing a crowd eager for Economic, Real Estate and Technology insights.

■ May – Thousands gathered at Shain Park to enjoy the 59th Annual Village Fair, a beloved community tradition.

■ June – We celebrated one of the many Ribbon Cuttings held throughout the year, recognizing the opening of a new Chamber business and its exciting future in our community.

■ July - The Annual Golf Outing was held at Wabeek Country Club and was a sold-out event bringing together members for a day of fun and networking.

■ August – Our traditional Breakfast with the Superintendents featured the leaders of Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills schools.

■ September - The 20th Annual Vine & Dine at The Kingsley Bloomfield Hills featured food and wine tastings from local area favorites.

■ October – The Community Leadership Breakfast united the business community and nonprofit organizations in a spirit of collaboration.

■ November – The 76th Annual Meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the past year and plan for the future.

■ December – The year ended on a festive note with the Holiday Mixer welcoming Chamber members and their guests.

Beverly Hills

It isn’t the one with Rodeo Drive and movie stars, and the residents of the Village of Beverly Hills prefer it that way. This 4.25-square-mile patch in the middle of Oakland County is home to more than 10,000 residents, making it the largest home-ruled village in Michigan.

The village is independently rated among the safest municipalities in Michigan, and one of the best to raise a family. In addition, there are top-notch municipal services, varied housing options, excellent public and private schools, parks and even two nature preserves.

The Birmingham public school district serves the residents of Beverly Hills. There are private options, as well, with schools like Our Lady Queen of Martyrs and the prestigious Detroit Country Day School.

Despite its small size, Beverly Hills is home to two nature preserves, Douglas Evans Nature Preserve and Hidden Rivers Nature Preserve. Both are protected areas that remain nearly pristine and are also ideal places to walk and nature watch. The 15-acre Hidden Rivers, in particular, is home to stunning plant and wildlife habitats that are nearly untouched by humans.

The Village of Beverly Hills is the proud recipient of the Birmingham Bloomfield Cultural Council’s 2024 Partners with the Arts Award for promoting a kaleidoscope of arts programming at village parks. The 34-acre Beverly Park offers numerous activities, including a sled hill and ice-skating rink, sand volleyball and basketball courts, two baseball fields and two tennis courts, a new playground, disc golf course, cornhole, and a wooded area with trails for biking and hiking. Beverly Park also boasts the Storybook Trail, a short nature trail on which 18 posts are installed, each with a two-page layout of a children’s book. There is a different book each month, ensuring that little ones will want to keep coming back.

Bingham Farms

The Village of Bingham Farms is a tale of two communities. Five hundred residences, half which are condos, are tucked into wooded lots with rolling hills, ravines and streams. Many folks say their homestead has a quiet “Up North” sensibility, while the village’s thriving commercial district along Telegraph Road is literally minutes away. Twenty-five office buildings host a wide range of tenants that includes medical and dental offices, financial and legal services, non-profits, education facilities like the Hondros College of Nursing, and a handful of unique restaurants.

Bingham Farms lies within the Birmingham Public School District, consistently ranked as one of the state’s best. Through partnerships with the City of Birmingham, village residents utilize the newly-renovated Baldwin Public Library, and seniors are eligible to join Next – the active nonprofit that serves the 50-plus community.

Birmingham

With a settlement history dating to the 1820’s, Birmingham is nestled among some of the nation’s most affluent suburbs. The lively downtown area is pedestrian-friendly and well known for shopping, dining and entertainment. Comprising more than 300 retailers, patrons enjoy a diverse assortment of fashion boutiques, restaurants, gift shops, jewelers, salons, spas, antique shops and art galleries. With a unique mix of historic ambiance, modern retail and entertainment, the City attracts those of all ages and interests.

Birmingham has charming tree-lined neighborhoods and maintains the feel of a small town, while experiencing the benefits of an affluent urban area. The City is home to two top-rated nine-hole golf courses, a picturesque trail system, a dog park, an indoor ice arena and beautiful award-winning parks. Movie theaters and a centrally located park complete the city center.

Education is highly valued. The schools, both public and private, offer a tradition of academic excellence that consistently rank them as some of the finest schools in the country. Sports and extracurricular activities are also an important part of Birmingham’s successful education system.

Located along Woodward Avenue, Michigan’s Main Street, Birmingham is centrally located within Oakland County and Metro Detroit. With so much to offer, Birmingham is an ideal place to live, work, shop and play.

Bloomfield Hills

Bloomfield Hills is home to some of the most sought-after real estate in Michigan, but it still maintains a certain rustic charm — rolling hills, tree-lined streets and streams.

The city is committed to keeping it that way. In its planning, the city has been committed to maintaining the open spaces and natural character of the landscape — providing an escape from the bustle of cities. In other words, don’t expect Bloomfield Hills to be a busy metropolis anytime soon.

The city also is home to some of the most prestigious schools, buildings and religious institutions in the state. There’s the Cranbrook Education Community — including Cranbrook Art Museum, Institute of Science and Cranbrook Schools — which occupies a stunning 319-acre campus punctuated by world-class gardens, art and architecture.

In addition to Cranbrook Schools, the city has a first-rate public school system, Bloomfield Hills School District, and one of the most exclusive private schools in the country, the Roeper School.

The intersection at Woodward and Long Lake Road serves as the city’s primary business center, with predominantly office buildings and professional services as its main sectors.

Bloomfield Township

Bloomfield Township is an alluring scene in any season with beautifully landscaped estate-sized homes nestled in expansive stretches of lush green lots, lakes and streams. But alongside the beauty is a community that’s committed to its residents.

Public safety is a priority evidenced by Niche naming the Township safest small-town in Michigan. Residents continue
to choose millages that boost public safety, recently
approving one that replenished staffing levels and brought back the traffic investigations unit.

The Janet Roncelli Safety Path Program, named for the former Township Clerk, offers over 70 miles of safety paths that connect neighborhood attractions like our state of the art library, E.L. Johnson Nature Center and Bowers School Farm.

Bloomfield Township Senior Services offers an array of amenities such as fitness programs, day trips and supportive services to help older residents remain in their homes. The Senior Center is a popular gathering place available to residents aged 50 and up.

The stellar municipal offerings grow out of the fact that the Township exists largely for its residents: the community is 95% residential. The main business activity is situated along Woodward, Telegraph and Maple Roads. Four public school systems serve the Township: Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Pontiac and Avondale.

Franklin

It would be enough for Franklin to just be a small, charming village with historic architecture and quiet beauty. But it strives to be a village to remember, boasting no less than five civic organizations dedicated to beautifying and preserving the village’s unique charm.

There’s the Franklin Community Association, which owns and operates a four-acre park and hosts several Music on the Green events as well as the Labor Day Roundup and Art Fair.

Then there’s the Historical Society, dedicated to preserving and educating on the village’s rich history. A must-see is the new Franklin Village Historical Society Museum. They’ve also brought back Build a Scarecrow or Crow to Go at the end of September.

The Franklin Mobile Watch is a volunteer group that patrols neighborhoods to keep the village safe, while the Garden Club has been beautifying the community since 1953.

Franklin also has its own downtown development organization, Main Street Franklin, which helps small businesses thrive while maintaining the area’s historic character. The group hosts the Summer Block party in August, Franklinstein Frenzy in October and Shop, Sip and Stroll in December.

The village also rents out the Kreger House and Barn for special events and celebrations. The house can also be used as a unique place for a business or board meeting. Contact the Village Clerk for more information.

First settled in 1824 by settlers from New England, this 2.7-square-mile village – the largest home-ruled village in Michigan – lives its history. The Franklin Grill & Tavern, for example, still has the original two-story frame that housed the Congleton Carriage Shop in 1840.

The village celebrated its bicentennial in 2024.

NEW DEVELOPMENT

Beverly Hills Welcomes Two New Businesses

Beverly Hills is bustling with excitement as two new businesses prepare to open their doors and add more flavor to the Southfield Road corridor.

Paddle & Par, an indoor recreational facility, and Supino Pizzeria, a popular Detroit eatery, are set to bring fresh energy and new experiences to the Village.

“Beverly Hills has always been a wonderful place to live,” said Carissa Brown, Village Economic Development Associate. “These new businesses will further enhance our quality of life and welcome even more people to our thriving community.”

Paddle & Par: A Slice of Fun

Construction is underway at Paddle & Par, a state-of-the-art facility located at 31535 Southfield Road. This exciting venue will feature pickleball courts, simulated golf, a casual dining area, and a lively bar.

Sharpen your pickleball game on one of the 11 courts, before taking a break to enjoy a delicious wood-fired pizza or a refreshing cocktail.

Are you a golf enthusiast? The mezzanine area will include PGA-endorsed simulator machines that offer a realistic golfing experience, complete with stunning visuals and challenging courses.

Scheduled to open in late 2024 or early 2025, Paddle & Par is sure to become a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. They even plan to hold pickleball and golf tournaments!

Supino Pizzeria: A Taste of Detroit

Pizza lovers, rejoice! Supino Pizzeria, renowned for its mouthwatering East Coast-style pizza, is expanding to Beverly Hills. This beloved Detroit eatery will be opening a new location at 31275 Southfield Road.

Get ready to savor the flavors of Supino’s signature pizzas, made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients from around Michigan. From classic pepperoni to creative combinations, there’s something for everyone.

Remember to pair your pizza with one of their delicious Italian salads or a refreshing beverage. Supino Pizzeria is scheduled to open in 2025 and is expected to be a hit with pizza enthusiasts and casual diners alike.

A Bright Future for Beverly Hills

With their unique offerings and commitment to quality, Paddle & Par and Supino Pizzeria are sure to make a lasting impact on the community.

“For the last 66 years, the Village of Beverly Hills has maintained a great quality of life for its residents,” Brown said. “Neighborhoods are welcoming and quaint, municipal services are top-tier, and we are constantly attracting more people and families to the community.”

Birmingham Bursting With New Development

Steeped in history and tradition, while brimming with modern energy. Downtown Birmingham offers an engaging mix of iconic retailers, charming bistros, luxury condos, and vibrant community events.

Erika Bassett, a longtime resident of the city, serves as Executive Director of the Birmingham Shopping District (BSD). With a look toward the future, she shares a glimpse into the exciting developments residents and visitors can expect in 2025:

Q: What are some of the more exciting stories with the Birmingham retail scene heading into 2025?

Bassett: We have over a dozen projects currently in development, including the five-story RH Gallery, several mixed-use projects, a few local business expansions, and new national tenants.

A new concept, the Shops on Townsend, is expected to open soon, featuring a variety of local merchants and makers offering unique, high-quality artisan goods.

Q: Can you share a few of the events planned for 2025?

Bassett: The Birmingham Shopping District has a variety of events planned for 2025, starting with the second annual BRRmingham Blast event on Saturday, January 25! All are invited to join us for free family-friendly entertainment, including a zip line, food trucks, and more throughout the day.

Our 2025 event calendar includes a variety of events for all ages and interests, including the Birmingham Farmers Market, outdoor Movie Nights, the popular Day on the Town sidewalk sale, and more during the warmer months.

Q: Talk a little about the Birmingham dining scene heading into 2025.

In the coming months, we will welcome several new restaurants, both casual and fine dining. Wilder’s, a modern bistro from restaurateur Samy Eid, will open in late 2024, with an intimate supper club concept and a focus on fine dining cuisine.

Marrow Detroit Provisions will offer fresh cuts of meat, aged steaks, and gourmet sundries, as well as sandwiches, salads, and soups designed by Marrow’s executive chef and partner, Sarah Welch, and her team.

Q: Talk about the opportunities to grow mixed-use spaces.

Bassett: Our goal is to cultivate an environment where businesses thrive, where we continue to attract talent, culture, and innovation, and where Birmingham remains a destination for economic growth and community connection.

Constant analysis of our business mix and community downtown usage helps us to develop successful strategies and programs. Mixing residential, office, and retail is important in maintaining a continuously active downtown environment and atmosphere.

Q: What role does the BSD play in attracting visitors to the downtown?

Bassett: The Birmingham Shopping District hosts nearly 60 special events and engages in a variety of marketing, public relations, and community-building activities throughout the year.

Our vibrant downtown will welcome many new retailers and restaurants within the next few years, generating interest within the local and regional communities. We will continue collaborating with the City of Birmingham to fully activate our beautiful outdoor spaces, implement enhanced accessibility features, and expand signature community events and activities.

Next's New Home Taking Shape

Next is on track to move into its new home at the YMCA building at 400 E. Lincoln in the next few years.

The City of Birmingham purchased the YMCA building in 2023 to provide a new space for the area’s growing senior population. After an extensive feasibility study, the Birmingham City Commission decided the best course of action was to demolish the existing structure and build a new one.

A Brighter Future

The new facility will provide a modern and accessible space for Birmingham-area residents to socialize, learn new skills, and stay active. It will also strengthen Next’s position as a leader in senior services in the area.

For more than 45 years, the nonprofit has been a welcoming space for 50+ residents of Birmingham, Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms, Franklin, and the surrounding area.

”This new home will allow us to better serve our growing senior population and provide a welcoming and supportive environment for all,” said Cris Braun, Executive Director of Next. “It is the community of Next that makes us such an asset to the city. One place under one roof, where seniors can connect to each other, finding comfort, support, and friendship.” 

As construction plans progress in 2025, Braun said that Next is looking forward to a bright future in its new home and continuing to make a positive impact in the Birmingham area.

Collaboration with the YMCA

Next, the City of Birmingham, and the YMCA are working on a formal agreement to share the new building. While the final concept is still being developed, the goal is to create a vibrant community hub that benefits both organizations and the surrounding neighborhoods.

"Sleepy" Franklin Welcoming New Businesses

‘The Town That Time Forget’ will be a welcoming spot for two new restaurants in 2025: The Franklin Oyster Bar & Eatery and the Gray Dog Café.

“The beauty of these projects is how they engage residents and visitors alike,” Franklin Village Assistant Administrator Susan Goldstrom said. “Both these businesses are focused on creating fresh gathering spaces that offer food and spirits while honoring the area’s original historic roots.”

Established more than 200 years ago in 1824, Franklin Village was the first designated State Historic District in Michigan. Today, it offers up a magical canvas of charming homes and local businesses, combining community spirit, Main Street attractions, family festivals, and summer block parties.

Gray Dog Café

The Gray Dog Café at 32644 Franklin Road is scheduled to open in the spring of 2025 under Lisa MacDonald’s ownership. Located in the heart of the Village Center, the Gray Dog Café is ripe with opportunity. The café is designed to be a thriving, interconnected community space where wellness, nourishment, and nature flourish harmoniously.

Plans for the space include a coffee shop, quality pastries, terrace seating, and wine and spirit pairing events.

The Franklin Oyster
Bar & Eatery

Call it “the Franklin.” Set to open in late 2024 or early 2025, this exciting new eatery at 32760 Franklin Road restores the former Franklin Grill site, bringing new life to the downtown.

Located in a 19th-century carriage house, the Franklin will offer a combination of fine spirits and classic cuisine. The menu will feature fresh seafood, steak, burgers, and a weekend brunch.

Owner Jay Farner also purchased the adjoining property at 32750 Franklin, which will be added to the new restaurant by a shared back patio. The neighboring site will become a cafe where visitors can pick up grab-and-go sandwiches, flatbreads, salads, pastries, and coffee.

The restaurant’s name celebrates Franklin’s history, as the area was first settled by New Englanders who commonly enjoyed oysters and would import them from the Atlantic coastline.

Olympic Training Center
Coming to Bloomfield Township

Two exciting projects are planned for Bloomfield Township: a world-class athletic training center and a state-of-the-art indoor golf facility.

The Bloomfield Athletic Training Complex, where future Olympians can train, and Tee Times, featuring advanced golf simulators, are expected to open in 2025.

“These are a couple of great projects for everyone to enjoy,” Township Supervisor Dani Walsh said. “They’re gathering spots—it’s great to see them coming here.”

Going for the Gold

The Bloomfield Athletic Training Complex will be a partnership between the Detroit Skating Club and the Bloomfield Tennis and Fitness Club. It will include new athletic dormitories and a 128,000-square-foot fieldhouse for soccer, baseball, football, lacrosse, and other sports.

The plan also calls for other onsite improvements and landscaping features.

Walsh said the Bloomfield Athletic Training Complex will attract future Olympians and other world-class athletes. She praised the extensive effort of the many individuals who worked together over the years to bring this project together.

“This is one of those stories of success in how you can move mountains when groups come together for the greater good of a community and a region,” she said. This project is truly a labor for so many people involved, and I am incredibly proud to promote it.”

PGA-Style Golf

Tee Times includes top-of-the-line golf simulators, where golfers can choose from over 200 courses. Proprietor Brandon Shaya describes the venue as “a place for all ages, golf instruction, games, and tournaments.”

The club will feature league and tournament play that allows golfers worldwide to compete virtually. Local golf pros will be available for tips and lessons year-round.

Tee Times will occupy over 9,000 square feet of vacant space in the Maple & Telegraph Shopping Center. Shaya said the simulator technology is among the best in the country.

Expect a club atmosphere and lots of good food, with a menu that includes everything from sliders to calamari, classic nachos, and steak tips.

Both projects are expected to be popular gathering spots for the Bloomfield community.
